Everyone agrees that we should reduce the deficit.

Everybody likes to talk about it, yes. When it comes to really having to make cuts and increasing taxes it becomes very muddy

But the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest have already cost us $1.7 trillion and, if extended, would cost another $600 billion. The wealthiest have done the best in this economy, increasing their net worth, whereas everyone else has lost on their assets. Yet Romney/Ryan would would tax the middle class more, and cut Medicare by $700 billion, to pay for another tax break for the wealthiest?

Cost? As in "You didn't build that."? Sounds about right.

This GOP slavish adherence to trickle down, which the last 30-40 years has proven is a dead concept, is where the election will be fought.

The election will be won or lost on Obama's ability to avoid his failure of a first term. Basically how well he can blame ___________, while talking about how rich Romney is and how you should get a piece of that. This requires the ultra craftiness of an upper level politician which he appears to be. Too bad the country needs a leader. Im not sure how Romney would do as POTUS, but I know how bad the other guy is.

It is interesting to note that Romney/Ryan have avoided the phrase "trickle down" like the plague. Yet that is exactly the theory behind their proposals. It did not work in the 90's or the 2000's. Got to prime the pump on the other end.

Politics and politicians have ruined this country.

Given how polarized we are; I bet close to 40% of the electorate wouldn't be happy with anyone that Romney chose.

At the time, Cheney was not thought of as Satan (that came from Iraq). Palin literally and figuratively looked good at first but I'm quite sure Ryan will be a more popular choice than her by the time the election rolls around.

Palin was initially hated primarily because she was seen as such a threat from a popularity standpoint. Ryan is hated for stances he's taken. Nobody even knew who Palin was really, but a lot of Ds knew full well that they desperately hated Ryan. Completely different animal than Palin.
