Roy Williams' mistake shows he's human by Dick Vitale

Did Williams deny approving the graduation gifts or tell the 'AA he didn't remember coaching at Kansas? If not, it's an apples to aardvarks comparison.

With all the cheating going on in college athletics, let's spend time going after the schools giving out cars, laying cash on player representatives and gaining unfair advantages in the world of recruiting. That is the real cheating, baby!

Pearl shouldn't be one of the people the NCAA is going after according to Vitale's own words.

Don't forget that Vitale worships at the altar of Krzyzewski, but Roy Williams is his second man-crush.

DV is an idiot and soon he will be gone... Even his beloved V foundation takes a hit because of him... Don't get me wrong... Jimmy V is a great story and no one tells it like Dick but much of us will not give due to his ..........mouth !!!!

I know he had cancer, but let's not act like Jim Valvano was the epitome of "doing it the right way"...

I agree with finding a cure for cancer and Im sure as I have ,we all have lost a family member or friend to it.My whole thing is why wasnt these people doing all this charity work before Jimmy V got cancer ? People that are famous dont do any kind of work like this until it happens to them.

by the way DV is a blow hard and the way you get rid of him is hit mute on the TV

Well I'm going to ignore your attempt at English. There is no way of knowing whether these people previously donated or not prior to Jimmy V, and the reason we now know is because of the huge amount of press dedicated toward the Jimmy V foundation (which gets donations from normal citizens).

Now on to the article... This has nothing in common with the Bruce Pearl case. If Roy Williams flat out LIED about giving the gift you may be able to make a case, otherwise this is a huge huge stretch.

for the 1000th time.... Did Roy Willaims know he was breaking a rule when he did it, you'd certainly hope so. So, if you break the rules and are later questioned about it just say, yep I broke the rules, and all is well. They're both wrong, one involved $$$ which is the root of all evil in the NCAA. I hate being lied to but answer me this, if two guys are pulled over for going 100 MPH and the one says yes officer I know I was going 100 and the other says, OMG, no way, my speedometer must be broken, is one less guilty then the other?

If they were going 100MPH on the autobahn, neither one was speeding and the officer is wrong.

Good point which also supports my belief that in the case of CBP the "officer" is wrong because I will never see what advantage a school gets when there coach has a cookout? Ive stated before if I'm a high school junior or senior I have ZERO interest in going to a coaches house unless he has a teenage daughter and a swimming pool. :eek:hmy:

After reading that, I realized that Vitale has a vocabulary of less than 20 words. Thought tv was just an act but thats who he really is.

Vitale speaks before engaging what's left of his brain. Called the cookout a party. Kept comparing thje Des Bryant incident where the NCAA suspended him for a year to BP's. Yes, originally the same, but Bryant never came clean and said he lied. I/m sure that BP came clean because he knew what was coming. However, never once did DV mention that BP went back to the NCAA and confessed that I can remember. Yes he is a big mouth that doesn't know what he's talking about half the time, but to go on and on and on about this on ESPN (national TV) doesn't help.
