Rumor About Ausmus

did it three times last year + a couple of months! Im' sure Dooley will get the best man for his system! And that might be Ausmus! A coach should choose his S&C coach, vital position!

My point exactly. This is one decision that I might question CDD on, but this is really not a fact it is a rumor. We are in the wait and see mode. Coach A runs a clean regimented program. He was a solid hire. Adjustments can be made to alter the S & C program to fit the HC desires versus letting one go. They will talk next week. One can only assume that this is Coach As decision and not CDDs. I would think he would ask him to stay but I may be wrong. Likewise, I would think that Coach A would want to stay.

At this time it is the one of the most important positions to retain on the staff.

Who cares. Strength and conditioning coaches are easy to find. We should find the guy who Ausmus replaced, cant remember his name but he did not get along with Kiffin.

we care...Ausmus is an Alum...Ausmus earned his Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Sport Management from Tennessee in 1998...If I'm not mistaken, Ausmus ran track at TN...DD will keep him in Knoxvegas...go VOLS!

I don't really give a crap where he went to school as long as he's the best S&C coach out there. If he is, great. If not, get the best one in here.

The chick in my avatar is a personal trainer. Probably wouldn't hurt recruiting.

True. AND she could teach the boys not to get distracted by their "fat little girlfriends"(favorite mike leach quote ever) Surely this is a case of the loudmouth wife disease. Guys that grow up in rural TN are usually pretty happy that they grew up in rural TN. Hope we keep him.

The S&C coach sees the players more than the coaches do during the offseason. So yeah I wouldn't say who cares if I was you because if you care at all about our players development during the spring and summer, you wouldn't be saying who cares.

Maib is from Gallatin. And he played at UGA (not sure, but I think VD was coach then) As a side note... When he arrived at UGA as a freshman, he was benchpressing over 500 pounds.

I believe his or his wifes family lives just north of Knoxville & he has no desire to leave at all.

Somebody said in another thread that it is a done deal according to the Rivals USC page. Anybody who can wanna check that out?

Just based on the headline and the little snippet that is accessible to the public, it sounds like the article just mentions it as a possibility and that Ausmus has been contacted by USC.

According to our sources, Tennessee Director of Strength and Conditioning Aaron Ausmus is in the process of being hired as USC's head strength and conditioning coach.

Sources close to the Tennessee program have indicated that Ausmus was handling all of UT's offseason workouts. He was a popular coach with the players and was apparently winning over head coach Derek Dooley, albeit slowly.

There was some internet scuttlebutt on Thursday that Dooley was dragging his feet on giving Ausmus his full support and a contract.
