At least Rex said it was a rumor, other dude said someone in the AD told him. These "reliable sources" are crap.

Unless it turns out to be true... ;)

So, I'm starting to think these rumors are like celebrity deaths, they happen in threes, so if Oku leaving was the first and Pearl leaving is the second, I'll go ahead and start the third to get it out of the way.

Based on VERY RELIABLE sources I have within the University of Tennessee Athletic Department, Me and Jake Tate now feel safe confirming that Pat Head Summitt has accepted a position of the same title at UMass. Her resignation is effective immediately, and she is taking the basketball floor with her. Again, Jake Tate and I can now confirm that Pat Head Summitt is on her way out. Remember, we know people in the AD.

You should be tarred and feathered in the public square if it ends up being true. The man stated what his source is, and that its not TOS. Not to mention, one of your Mods started the same rumor.

I find it funny how all rumors are started either on a weekend or late at night. I guess alcohol has this affect on people. Here is why this is bogus. No female in the AD is gonna drop this on a Sunday to a no name poster on vol nation period. And if this person knew he was gonna resign before he dis she would also know details on why he is resigning. If she was gonna spill her beans about the resigning she would also spill her beans about why. This is just another thread of a poster "hoping" that a rumor on the other site was right so he can act like he is in the know. To many people like that on here. FALSE RUMOR!!!!!

I have a brother whose friend has a brother that has a cousin that never told a lie in his life who has deep connections inside the UT sports department and he said he has not heard of this rumor. :crazy:

There won't be another coach in UT's future to win against a #1 team in Kansas and a #2 team in Kentucky in the same season. There is no one, absolutely no one. We need a coach who's not afraid to coach his guts out against the big boys. We need a guy that's intimidating.

We're talking about UT here, not the rest of the Ncaabb world. Bruce Pearl isn't intimidated by Izzo, Self, Calipari, Donovan, Matta etc. Pearl has outcoached all of these coaches.

If Pearl leaves, our program will tank unless we hire another coach with CBP like qualities.

You know VN is a forum for exactly these kinds of topics. None of us like the news, but the guy repeatedly said it was only a rumor, it could be BS, and he hopes it's not true. If you're this upset about the OP, I'm not sure if VN is a great site for you.

Right, its easy to see coming, but its ok. Since I couldn't even make Lyls honorable mention for VN's troll contest, I figured I should try to step it up with the less rational of VN, stepping up my troll street cred.

It feels like every day we have a "rumor" that can change the entire state of the athletic department....(got my bottle of Jack in the bottom drawer just in case)
