Man, I don't think you deserve any bashing. You said from the beginning that it was just a rumor and it may not be true. You used VN exactly the way it should be. I appreciate your willingness to share information.

I doubt either you or Rexvol posted this out of some perverse deisre to watch the meltdown and laugh. Like I said earlier, those that believed it can only blame themselves. Bruce's charity golf tournament is today. Why the hell would he resign on THIS day?

The Sentinel wonders why nobody takes them seriously. Can you fathom Jeff Goodman or Bruce Feldman running a story with a post from Anonymous Internet Guy's information as the basis?

So.......it seems that RexVol irresponsible posting of unsubstantiated rumors has just reached, oh, a couple hundred thousand people? And in doing so, has caused a negative light to be shone on this site, the Tennessee basketball program, and the fanbase in general.

If you cared as much about verifying rumors as you do being the first to start threads about them, your post count would be reduced by no less than 80%, and your credibility would eventually rise above that which Tokyo Rose enjoyed, circa 1943.

Were I (or someone else) have posted this drivel, at the very least it would likely garner a suspension, and at worse, being banned.

Way to be "All-Vol" Rex. You should be allowed to be a buffoon if you wish to be one, but you should not be allowed a forum to wrap the rest of us up in it with you.

Please consider switching your allegiance to another school. Might I suggest Florida, Alabama or Army?

Like another poster stated, this rumor had legs before Rex or Jake posted this thread. There seemed to be more chatter than usual with some of the rumors we've had to endure, i.e. The Big Fish, which was limited to one radio show in Chatt...

Posted it too, 2 mins after rex, without knowing what he was posting. blame me as much as him. I really thought it was true too. I thought the person that was telling me was reliable. She does work for the AD.

But you can read my apology on page 38, i think. I really dont think a ban is necessary for starting a rumor though, isnt that what this site is for? I wasnt trying for shock value, I was trying to get validation from someone on here with more info than i had. but I got the former, unitentionally. Again, my apologies.
