Petersen is a lifelong Catholic but don't let that keep you from getting your hate on.

I don't hate him, and I said I didn't know if it was true that he was a scientologist. I just wouldn't be upset about Florida hiring Hawkins v2.

If you look at the various rumors out there in regards to coaching changes, Cowher Dungy and Gruden are always named. Why is that?

He may not be as bad, but I feel confident in saying he's a fraud. I'd take Dooley over him, to be honest, and I'm not a huge Dooley fan at all.

I feel confident in saying that I would take Chris Petersen any day of the week over Derick Dooley, and twice on Sundays.

Besides his record, he seems to be extremely organized, and always seems to get his players ready to go 100% every week.

Would be outstanding for us if Meyer is replaced by Chris.

Recruiting AA kids in FL against a Mormon should be a cinch.

It would not be easy for a Palestinian to coach in the Maccabiah games and I am positive that with Chris as their coach in Gainesville, last years class will be the highest ranked one at UF for at least the next 5 years.

He only needs them to be at 100% once or twice a season, so I don't give him too much credit for that. It's hard when it's basically impossible to have a let down game during the year, because none of those teams have real chances to beat Boise. I'd take Patterson over him in a heartbeat, any time. In a real conference, I think Petersen would falter. I could be wrong, and I'll admit he hasn't proven to be a bad coach, it's just that I think he's more likely to be Dennis Franchione or Dan Hawkins than Urban Meyer. Boise was already good when he took over, and he's really just living off of about 5 wins, none of them which are as impressive as they may seem at first.

It's just that I've heard Chris Petersen speak at coaching clinics, and I'm pretty confident in saying that he'll be a success wherever he decides to go. He's got the right mindset and the right way to be a winner at a BCS-level program.

It's all moot though. Petersen probably won't leave Boise anytime soon. Or ever for that matter. I've heard that his kid is very ill with a chronic condition or something like that.

Yes, his kid has an illness that a medical center in Boise happens to be world-class in or something like that iirc.

Petersen's son Sam had a brain tumor 11 years ago when he was 1 year old (Petersen was coaching at Oregon at the time). The kid is fine now.

I can't understand why Tony Dungy, Jon Gruden or Bill Cowher would want that job? Not a single good reason. And Bob Stoops would be crazy to leave the sweet deal he has at Oklahoma. Chris Peterson? Maybe. I can see that. These other guys? No way. Total made up crap.

I have to agree, Stoops was approached about the job when Spurrier quit and turned them down and then he was approached again when Zook was fired and turned them down....I personally can not see what interest Cowher or Dungy would have in coaching there and getting Gruden is ridiculous at best...We all know he'll never leave Tampa Bay :clapping: but I hear if they ask nicely and apologize that Ron Zook would certainly be interested in returning to the team he helped build into a national title team :)

The only way I can see Stoops leaving is if he's felt he's worn out his welcome and decides he'd rather quit than be fired.

However, with the season Oklahoma is having, I don't see him feeling any heat for awhile.

Have you not been paying attention? Petersen is Catholic.

You may well be right. I can't really say how he do recruiting and putting together a good staff. I feel like it's hard to gauge what he's doing in the WAC. Maintaining/slightly building on something Hawkins did can't be too difficult.

Just had a buddy email me this.... Pretty sure it's false-

"Tim Tebow continues to lobby the Bronco's Brass to get Urban Meyer on the team's coaching Staff as Offensive Coordinator, and perhaps having responsibility for Special Teams. Sources close to the situation think Meyer is leaning towards making the jump to the NFL sooner than later, and reuniting with Tebow is something that Meyer apparently has expressed a lot of interest in..." Who is the Mormon?

I would rather see Christ Peterson on the sidelines than Urban Meyer next year, I can say that with 100% certainty.
