Rumor out of Columbia Muschamp is out [Confirmed]

Again, Will Muschamp is not signing a contract at UT without a buyout. He will sign a completely new contract with UT and South Carolina holds no bearing on that. To your other point, much like Pruitt I don't believe Muschamps buyout is mitigated by new employment. Pruitt is owed 60% of his salary regardless of a new job at another school, I'm pretty sure Muschamps contract is similar and is not offset by a new salary.
I've read that Pruitt is the only coach in the SEC without a mitigation clause in his buyout.

If Will Muschamp is fired today and hired in January as UT DC and UT fired Pruitt and company next December UT would owe Muschamp money.
What makes common sense, and what these idiots from athletic departments negotiate in contracts, are two totally separate things. Quite likely both of us are correct. I'm spouting how it works if everyone uses their brains, and you are spouting what these idiots will likely go and screw up.

Well yeah, our administration has made more people rich than reality TV

Its a generic number
You’re basing it on what Auburn was willing to shell out in addition to the $6.3 million Florida owed him. He’s set to receive $13 mil from SC...somebody will be able to land him with a decent salary.

We have one: Pruitt

Ansley is just a figurehead with the DC title
I’m really surprised Ansley would want it that way. If true, and we keep Pruitt, why not save the money and fire Ansley. Let Pruitt handle defense only and give the offense to Chaney or a new OC with a great reputation for developing Quarterbacks.

I think Sarkisian would be a good hire as well, as long as his personal life is in order (and I'd bet it is, or Saban wouldn't put up with it). And he has solid P5 HC experience. I'd take him over Fickell.
