Yeah, it is pretty sad that I could watch the same SC five times in a row and then get mad when softball comes on over a 6th re-run. hahah

Either Chip Brown or Joe Schaad is going to be wrong. Maybe Brown is just trying to hedge his bets.

I am not saying that they will for sure stay in the Big-12, but they definitely aren't waiting for someone else to be the bad guy. They will announce whatever is best for them, whenever it is best for them.

Honestly I don't see how this "new deal" for the Big 12 is realistic. The Commish said expect $17 million per school from the new contract, that's SEC type money I think...

What network is he going to get a deal from anyways?

I read somewhere that the, "deal" Bebee proposed was for that type of money.....but would bind the conference to an eighteen (18) year term. I can't cite the source or link - maybe someone else can verify or refute it - but I am relatively certain that this is out there.

Think the collegiate landscape has changed since 1992? Imagine being locked in through 2028.

So, yeah, if I am Don Bebee, I love this idea.

Is Beebe just pulling this money out of his a** now? If I was a Big 12 AD, I'd be asking why we didn't already have these tv contracts in place if that money was always on the table.

(I realize part of the bump comes from the teams only having to split the pot 10 ways instead of 12 ways as before. But that still doesn't explain the jump from 8-10 million to the 17 million that's being reported now)

As well they should. Seems like a good fit for both. I wonder why the Pac-10 doesn't just invite them now, as they need another team to round it out to an even number, and this wouldn't preclude TX et al from also jumping, should they vote to do so.

I'd like to see them jump to the Pac-10 just to shut Orrin Hatch's mouth, once and for all.

These guys reporting all this are just stabbing in the dark. I really wish everyone would stop reporting stuff like it's a "done deal". A&M to the SEC isn't even a done deal yet people are already welcoming them.

If the Big "12" regroups (for now) I won't want to put a lot of money on it surviving even 5 years.

I do not know, and I am not saying that they could. I was just stating that I believe Texas only cares about doing what is best for them over waiting to make A&M the scapegoat.
