Rumors James Pearce has character issues?

Kiper released his last pre-combine mock draft today. JP not taken in the first. Fwiw.
Yet Mike Green who has “character concerns” goes 15 to the Falcons. I’ll be beside myself if JPJ isn’t a first rounder. Led the country in pressure rate, 10% run stop rate, good against the run. Sure he wasn’t as good the year before sack-wise but 7.5 sacks is still elite production in the SEC.

I'll bet Mike Green's Virginia coach and Marshall coach have spilled whatever there is to spill on him. He got tossed out of Virginia for SOMETHING and NFL GM's have a responsibility to know what led to that dismissal. I'm sure they've called.

I'm sure they've called Coach Heupel and Coach Garner about Pearce to talk about a number of things including his coachability, behavior as a team member, behavior off the field, etc.

NFL GM's have access to a lot more info than is and should be made public. If Green isn't dropping and Pearce is dropping, there's a reason. These teams and GMs are making business decisions, so a lot more than statistics goes into the decision.

If 30+ GMs taking a long look are causing someone's draft stock to fall, there's a reason.

It’s just draft talk to try to snag him after a short fall. If JP falls in the draft it’s because teams are worried about his body type and take him off their boards. Not every defense is structured around his kind of attack, but he’s elite at what he does.

There are reasons not to draft almost any player, yet it only takes one team to draft him.

Oh I know it’s full body of work and I don’t want to put Mike Green on blast simply because no one knows the exact inner workings but the things he’s accused of aren’t great and would definitely steer away numerous teams. Nevertheless, Pearce is a better player with production against WAYYYY better competition over multiple years. He would’ve been Edge 1 last year.

It's just the definition of player is more than stats.

There are Dennis Rodman freaks who are head cases but still give you rings but those are few and far between.

Green may have issues and you can bet teams ask questions if someone was dismissed from a program. Apparently those questions have been answered and his stock is still up. Whatever the story is, you can bet the UVA coach has told it over and over privately to various teams and Green himself may have been asked over and over about it.

I think, as I said before, someone is tryin to push Pearce down in the draft to either get him at a steal or raise someone else to get them. That's what I choose to believe and I hope because I think Pearce could have an outstanding career in the right organization.

But when 30+ GMs seem to come to the same conclusion and someone with obvious talent drops out of the first round on lots of boards, it makes you go: Hmmmmm..... smoke usually has fire nearby. Hmmm..... even if they don't need him, wouldn't his talent make him trade bait if they got him?

There's just no way to know what's going on there but it's not on the stat sheet comparison, I'll agree.

I would LOVE for my Titans to take Hunter in round 1 then have the chance for Pearce in round 2.

I don't see it happening though. Pearce is a physical freak that is gonna show out at the combine. And he's got the college production to back it up.

The guy was attentive and answered every question to the best of his ability and you somehow came to that conclusion based on something he was wearing
I just watched about 10mins of it and came away with the same opinion. He’s a shy guy but he was attentive. Dalton Knecht was similar in his interviews too.
