Running List of Head Coach Candidates

Some coaches will not discuss or even entertain questions about coaching vacancies until season complete. One such coach is David Cutcliffe. When asked the other day about the Kentucky job, I think on his radio show, that was his response. He has around a 1.7 mil contract compared to Dooleys around 2.3 or there about.

Just saying, same old go begging for a coach we endured with Fulmer.

It would be nearly impossible to hire someone worse than Derek Dooley.

Most people are going to ***** about whoever the hire is anyway. There are plenty of coaches who would do well here, that a majority of the fanbase is too ignorant to see.

I see it as being a cluster to a prospective coach. Depleated roster with some Jr's maybe leaving. Crazy irrational fanbase (me included). No big name will leave their program for ours, unless you want to be in the SEC.

It doesn't serve any good purpose for the football program to make an announcement at this time. Coaches currently working would not want to be formally contacted at this time, they do not want to have to comment. In fact, Hart doesn't have to comment on anything as long as the status quo is maintained.

I read here a TON but never post....just have a question about this comment I see all the time. why is it the fans are CRAZY and IRRATIONAL because they want a coach fired that has never won anything anywhere that means anything? This is the worst stretch in UT football history in the 28 years ive been alive with no signs of real improvement. the offense took a step forward but the defense took 2 back so we are still in no better position to compete in the leauge. he has to go and we are not crazy for wanting it. a winning coach will have all the fan support he can handle.....

Obviously since the powers that be have chosen to not share info with the OP.... that means they can't find a quality coach.

More than likely a preliminary search has been going on for several weeks now. As others have said, most of those UT would be interested in are out there somewhere winning football games right now.

OCI I've read ur stuff for a long while but its puzzling for a guy who says gruden is a lock to take the time to make a list of 100 candidates.

I just thought it would be interesting to compile a list of all the candidates discussed (it didn't take that much time). I guess I was wrong.

UF struggled to land a good coach as well. Targeting Stoops and Shanahan amongst others. Alabama was about to hire Rich Rodriguez before things fell through. People are going to say no but we will land an improvement over Dooley this time because the money is going to roll out. We can't afford to hire a second rate coach.
