Russia Blocks Kerch Strait

Does anyone here know the Orthodox church?

I'm wondering exactly what changes on December 15? I gather the church in Ukraine gains authority to name its own personnel. What else? Does it change a flow of money?

Not really sure. The unification of the three Ukrainian factions on Saturday isn't a forgone conclusion either. The government seems to be pushing it to be honest in an effort to become more independent of Russia and who can blame them?

Latest from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM), based on information received as of 19:30, 11 December 2018 | OSCE

two military trucks with multiple masts, each with several antenna arrays, and a generator unit as well as a trailer assessed as electronic warfare equipment near Lozivskyi (32km west of Luhansk).

OSCE caught the proxy separatists setting up electronic warfare equipment in Luhansk on the 10th. To my knowledge the proxy republics do not have any EW units or equipment.

Also RT is now running the story of Ukrainian "provocations" including an offensive on the 14th/15th. At first it was just sometime DNR sources but the fact RT is running with it should worry everyone.

man I can't wait until we get to use the "what would Ukraine gain by using chemicals" excuse. False flags etc etc.

This is an interesting talk.

The last few minutes he presents a fair summary of the Trump campaign Russian entanglement and how it's led to an investigation into Trump's real estate transactions.

Ukraine priests to establish new church

Good read on the Orthodox split today. I saw a good breakdown of what's going on with it on twitter and I'll see if I can find it later after I get back from the game. Long story short is that the two Ukrainian factions (the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kiev Patriarchate & Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church) *should* decide to unify today over objections from the Russian Orthodox leadership. After that on January 6th the leadership of the global Orthodox church will formally recognize the newly unified and independent Ukrainian church. Than the individual churches loyal to the Moscow branch will have a decision to stay under the Russian leadership and be shunned by the greater Ukrainian society or switch and recognize the authority of the new Ukraine church.

That is true but it may be for the best since they are fighting the Russians who wield the faith as a weapon in the fight as well.

I get why it's happening. It's just a sad state of affairs that the governments are wielding power through religion--on either side.
