Russia brings the fight to ISIS in Syria!!!

You have quite a way with words, friend. That's not what those men are claiming at all. They're not claiming he's intentionally shielding the Islamic State, as you suggest. They're simply being critical of his cautious approach.

For better or for worse, the US is not Russia, and Obama is not Putin. Whatever you think about him, Obama will not have 400 American grandmothers blown up while watching "Jeopardy" simply to achieve a political aim, nor will America level an entire city district simply to hit one or two targets.

Now, if you think we should, that's fine. And certainly there can be many flaws in being overly cautious, as it appears Obama may be. But let's not confuse the situation any more than it already is.

I'm sure it's been a long day, causing you to over look the link I posted with it.

I didn't write it.

Erdoğan warns Russia against losing Turkey’s friendship

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has warned Russia against losing Ankara’s friendship, after Russian warplanes twice violated its airspace near the Syrian border.

“If Russia loses a friend like Turkey with whom it has a lot of cooperation, it is going to lose a lot of things. It needs to know this,” Erdoğan said in Belgium at a press conference alongside Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel broadcast on Turkish television.

Deciphering fact from fiction and jokes from serious statements is always a difficult task with Russian media.

The love/hate infatuation you have with everything Russian is perplexing. How does one who proclaims to admire Russian culture, history and people, come to hate and distrust everything Russian?

Turkey's actions in summoning the Russian ambassador and initiating a NATO meeting, rather than getting in touch with Moscow

how is that soo much of a distinction? I don't know how much different a conversation with an ambassador is than a conversation with the actual government. In the movies world leaders have hot lines that directly reach whoever; does that actually exist? For Turkey and Russia? The ambassador is a representative for Moscow and I am willing to bet the conversation is the same and you probably don't want world leaders having the first conversation while everyone's blood is up. Its not like Turkey was trying to bury the issue, they contacted the ambassador.

I get that. Yes, the ambassador was summoned and I'm not undermining the whole intention of the Turkish govt, I just thought it peculiar.

I have always despised the various iterations of Russian governments and governance, because Russians deserve much better than what they have historically gotten. Their government has always exploited them, giving them one slice of bread while taking two, sometimes quite literally.

I can understand the appeal of a Putin to them, but they deserve better, because, in reality, all he is is just a lying little thief bastard.

The Russian people, however, are too paranoid and have too much of an inferiority complex, partially because of their history and partially because of their lying governments. That is one of the great flaws of the Russian people, but I would be remiss if I didn't point out that every people has at least one weakness or flaw.

CNN reporting that a Russian marine killed while trying to rescue the pilot from the downed jet. Does not say how.

Hope there wasn't an actual skirmish and shooting back and forth. That could escalate quickly.

Video on news tonight showed pilots parachuting to ground while those filming were shooting at them. Said the film was shot by Syrian Rebels. Said rescue efforts also came under ground fire.

Is there any doubt that Iran is?

Is there any doubt that Kremlin-funded Chechnya is?

Is there any doubt Kremlin-funded Syria is?

Is there any doubt ad infinitum?

Admittedly, the "well, he's our bastard" approach can be cynical and lead to even more problems, but let's be honest here: every side involved in this conflict has its "our bastards." ISIS gets all the news and causes all the fear because of how apocalyptic it is, but the Iranian and Kremlin-funded Assadian terrorist regime has killed more people than ISIS.

again I have no idea how common it is for heads of states to talk. seems like there should be some time while everyone gets their ducks in a row and settles their side of things before addressing the other. but again I have no idea if Turkey did they correct thing or not by not going first to Moscow. it just doesn't raise a red flag with me.
