Screw a bunch of ceremony. I'm in one Sat. that is keeping me from the RC and I'm hot about it.

I wanne see JB blister one about 365 down the pipe on 1.

The Euros have some guys that can step on it, but we have a few that they just can't touch on that front, ie Tiger, JB and Bubba. I know two of them aren't here, but we have some serious pop in the game on this side of the pond.

If I'm Azinger, I take those guys with Daly and play on an 8200 yard course will 12 par 5s and slick, slick greens.

i don't see how it can happen, but I'd love to see the upset.

One thing I notice is that this group of Yanks seems to genuinely like each other and are having a good time. I think that only helps. Too many years it's felt like it was a chore for Tiger and Mick to be out there.

being a big 'dog helps from a pressure standpoint and the Euros have beaten us badly, on our turf, as much bigger dogs.

Not saying it happens, but I think we might see the loosest team we've seen in decades.

We pop in a few putts early, the crowd will pull the boys through the rest of the way.

Seriously, give that southern crowd a reason and they'll roar non stop..

I just don't know that between Sergio, Paddy, and Westwood that it matters how loose our team is or how many 320 yard drives JB hits. The Euros just look absolutely stacked. I don't think we would win this tournament with a fully healthy Tiger.

and they wouldn't have won in 2004 either, but they did, in a very convincing fashion.

Sergios defeats of late are a problem. Paddy doesn't typically play that well on our soil (though it has gotten better) and Westwood is simply solid, but can lose it.

Again, this thing's going to come down to putting and we have a decent lot of putters without the total wildness off the tee that has killed us lately.

Again, we're appropriately the 'dogs in this, but golf is as much about recent form as it is ability. It's the most unpredictable of all sports, unless Tiger's in the field at the Masters.

that's what i'm thinking as well.

for whatever it's worth, i did read that Westwood is recovering from tonsillitis this week.

I also saw that he has gigantic summer teeth.

edit: him slowing that putting stroke down has helped his putting. He looks awfull solid over it now. I also think he'll miss Darren Clarke, who's a very fun dude.

it's not exactly a secret that Tiger really isn't a team kind of guy. yeah, it hurts but it's not crippling.

dead on IMO. In fact we've never really seen Tiger roar in the Ryder Cup. I'm not saying he's been awful in the Ryder Cup, but I certainly wouldn't call his performances great either.

You know, I hear that all the time. But every team I see him in Ryder or President's, he's yucking it up and having a great time with the team.

From what I understand, he's also well liked around the locker room.

What am I missing on this...

that's the thing. in tournaments, i don't see Tiger horsing around and having a good time with the boys, i see him with the killer instinct. the desire to not only win, but to crush and deflate his opponent. i don't get that same impression in the team formats.

i think he has a pretty high respect for the game, and it's players. i'm not going to pretend like i know what goes on in the clubhouse because i never will, but that's the impression i get.

Tiger appears to be slipping more toward the team and comraderie guy. Plus, I think the TV act of the tough, rip your guts out competitor is overblown.

Mickelson's the guy that many don't like.
