I got a Charter email yesterday and they're officially on board for the launch. It doesn't show up yet on their Sports View Channel Lineup for Knox County.

Charter guy told me yesterday it would be channel 304...34 what use to be CSS no longer shows up on my guide....

Channel 34 did used to be CSS. Channel 304 now is Fox Sports Atlantic. At least in my viewing area which is Tri-Cities. Channel 304 right now is only in SD. So, if 304 does change to SEC Network then it would probably be in SD & the HD channel for SEC Network would be another channel. I know CSS in HD was channel 828 before being discontinued.

I wonder if 828 will be the HD channel for SEC Network too? Makes sense because CSS would in a sense be the same channel now as SEC Network. Thanks! BTW, I'm not calling them to find out. Their customer service is horrible & the agents probably have no clue right now anyhow as to which channel the SEC Network will be carried on. :p

I decided to give Charter a call today & ask them what channels the SEC Network would be carried on in my viewing area. I was not surprised at all to have an agent to tell me they don't know yet.

This is Charter you know & customer service from them is pretty horrible. He even put me on hold to ask a supervisor & still no clue. How could they not know when it's 4 days now from launch? Good grief! :eek:hmy:

811 is skipped on my guide too here in Kingsport. It would make sense if they put it there. ..808 espn, 809 espn 2, 810 fss, 811 secn.

But, when CSS was on here in the same area as yours(Church Hill), it was on channel 828 in HD. I would think they would use that channel again but who knows. Like I said in my previous post, I called Charter today & absolutely no clue whatsoever. :eek:hmy:

I called Comcast today(Monday,Aug. 11) and inquired about SEC Network. I live in Burns, about 35 miles west of Nashville. Rep sez channel number hasn't been released yet, then told me I would have to have digital preferred, instead of digital starter, which I have now. Not buying it, everything I have read sez if you have digital starter you would receive it. Why at this stage(4 days before launch), do they not know the channel number? I shall wait, feel as though she was trying to get me to take preferred, which would be about $10 more a month.

I agree with both of you! How could they not know the channel number this close to launch? Doesn't surprise me at all though with Charter. Poor customer service! Comcast & Charter are parent companies so doesn't shock me that both are acting the same way.

They should know with the station setting to air 4 days from now. Makes me wanna throw up. The TV guide should at least list the channel with Off-Air or some blank programming for time slots until the 14th. Doesn't even have the channel at all listed. Ridiculous!

Does anybody know or know where I could look to find out which channel on Dish network is going to be the SEC network fr the Tri cities area, Johnson City, Gray, Kingsport? Plus is it a part of a special package or are we gonna have to upgrade to a different package? TIA

DISH announced today it will air the SEC Network on channel 404 within the Hopper® Whole Home HD DVR’s channel guide, per a press released.

Current DISH customers who subscribe to the America’s Top 120+ package and above will receive both SEC Network and Longhorn Network at no additional cost.

DISH also has Pac-12 Networks and the Big Ten Network available to college football fans.

The SEC Network launches Thursday and will be available in nearly 100 million households. The first live college football game on the network will be Aug. 28 - Texas A&M at South Carolina.

Today's News from Charter: To all the Charter Cable viewers in the Jackson,TN. area >>> there's an article (small) in the local paper the Jackson Sun dated 8/12 (Tuesday) that says the channel lineup for the SEC Network will be SD channel 34 where CSS was & also channel 328. An HD channel for the SEC Network on Charter will be channel 802 according to the Charter South communications director. I assume that there will be a no charge (free) for this SEC Network as it doesn't say in the article's write-up that there will be an additional charge. So ENJOY this year's SEC Football Games......ya.
