Today's News from Charter: To all the Charter Cable viewers in the Jackson,TN. area >>> there's an article (small) in the local paper the Jackson Sun dated 8/12 (Tuesday) that says the channel lineup for the SEC Network will be SD channel 34 where CSS was & also channel 328. An HD channel for the SEC Network on Charter will be channel 802 according to the Charter South communications director. I assume that there will be a no charge (free) for this SEC Network as it doesn't say in the article's write-up that there will be an additional charge. So ENJOY this year's SEC Football Games......ya.
I wonder if that will be the same for subscribers here in East Tennessee as well? CSS was channel 34 before but channel 828 in HD. It seems odd to me though that they would have the SEC Network in SD on 2 channels.
You said channels 34 & 328. We didn't have but one SD channel for CSS & one HD channel as well. That would be strange to have it available is SD on 2 channels. Not saying you're not right but seems odd to me. I do see that channel 802 is available & that's the HD area for sports so it's certainly open for the taking.
But, channel 828 is also available as well. I can't believe there's not anymore news or at least some care to get this information out to customers by Charter. Thanks!

I just received an email from Charter at 3:25pm today saying that come this Thursday we will be able to enjoy SEC Network at no extra charge. So those w/Charter Cable check your inbox for an email. SWEEEET !!!
No email for me yet
Received my email today too but still no channel number listed from their channel lineup yet. I'm not going to call them again about it because they still didn't even know yesterday so might as well wait til Thursday & look for it from the guide.hmy:
:good!: yep, sounds good. You'll be Okay. My email said the same about no channel number. It will be there though Thursday.
I know but for them to not already have the channel number for their customers is bullcrap! They even have UT PPV football up on the guide on channel number 349 & listed Off-Air. Why can't they have the same type of listing for SEC Network until Thursday? This way we know in advance the darn channel number. They have to already know this information! Good grief Charter!
Right now, I'm going w/what the local newspaper said about the channels today. They aren't usually wrong. Besides, they quoted a Charter Rep. All I care about is the HD channel & the article said channel 802 for the Jackson,Tn.area of West TN. I'm thinking you'll have the same.
I'd say you're right with channel 802 since it's close to the other ESPN HD channels. However, CSS was on channel 828 in HD back when it was available. I know back then they didn't have this ESPN deal for SEC Network but it was in a sense the same now due to ESPN carrying the games.
I wouldn't be surprised for it to be 828 even though ESPN & ESPN2 are channels 808 & 809 respectively. 802 isn't that far off from those numbers. But, 828 isn't either. We'll see in a couple of days! Thanks!
I got the email from Charter today as well. Just checked channel 802 and its showing up as SEC Network (and a little demo playing) with 803 being an alternate channel. I live in the Tri-Cities.
West Tn I live in the town next to you (Lexington) and we got nothing from charter. they tell us on chat that they havent even finalized the deal yet with espn
Same thing showing for me now. This was just added in the past hour. I had been checking all day. So, 802 was the correct channel. Both 802 & 803 are listed in HD too. What's the alternate channel for? Will this carry other games not regularly assigned to the SEC Network coverage area or what?
