If Lane wants to repay any debt owed to the Vols, he can be seen making $50,000 hand shakes with bama players.

I was thinking the same thing! All we need now is for James Franklin to get caught sneaking out of a window at Saban's house and we nail the trifecta.

So apparently Saban has invited Lane Kiffin as a guest to "Evaluate the Offense for the bowl game" but it looks like it could end up he may or may not get offered some job.... If Kiffin goes to Bama then Bama found a way for me to hate them even more.

This is why Saban is the best. Lane gets hate here, as he should, but strictly as a OC and QB developer he's a very, very good coach. Saban isn't stupid.

Aside from developing Crompton, Kiff's offensive prowess is vastly overrated. They were abysmal this past hear with 5 star talent at the skill positions.

He also was a head coach. It's a lot harder to be a head coach/OC/game manager all at the same time then it is to just be a OC and QB developer which he's great at. He turned Barkleys career around as well.

His schemes worked well when executed properly.

I.e. holding possession as long as possible, balanced run and pass, and...nevermind must coaches try that same thing.

Sark was the real offensive genius at USC under Carroll....Kiffin jumped on the ship as Co-Offensive Coordinator and simply claimed the glory for it.

I have mentioned before how funny VolNation is with Kiffin. He was the ultimate when he was hired but had never proved anything as a HC....actually accomplished what Fulmer could have that season with the same roster. But hey talked trash good and named his kid Knox.

Yet Butch has a proven record as a HC and is being hated on by so many.

:eek:lol: it is comical :eek:lol:

Please review the offense at USC over the last year two years and reevaluate your comments. He was responsible for the play calling at USC and it was horrific. The QB play has been terrible

I already did. He was set up for failure. He's not a good head coach, but you are delusional if you don't think he isnt a good OC. It's when he tried to be a HC and OC at same time that he failed. I'm not naive. I don't live under a rock. I saw what happened at USC, and that situation was set up for failure no matter the coach. The PAC-12 isn't the Big East. They have good teams in their conference now, and with the sanctions placed upon them the last 3 years almost everyone would have failed there as a head coach. I hate Kiffin, but I also don't wear orange sunglasses all the time and bash guys and say they are no good just because they didn't respect UT.

I would be too, Saban went over his head to bring in a guy who freezes up when calling plays during games. It's not like Bama has had a bad year on offense, either.

It is not unusual for teams to bring in outsiders for a few days to evaluate and discuss tendencies and schemes. Kiffin is qualified, and obviously has nothing else to do right now. How do you know he went over his head? The only thing I have seen is a 5 sentence report saying he was invited to assess the offense. What do you know?
