Quite easy to argue. He brought excitement in the way of sound bite, but nothing on the field. His "Great Recruiting" turned out to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors. I can't find one thing that he did while here that would lead someone to believe he did a good job during his one season here.Hard to argue.
What else is he going to say? There's a lot of folks in Bama still questioning the kiffin hire.

In hindsight, so was the 2007 UGA game.
You make a good point. Kiffin was 23-3 on the field as OC, but 14 of those wins (and one loss, I guess?) were thrown out because of the Reggie Bush case. I guess Saban can't really use his best selling point for the hire so he had to make something up.
I'd say it started out 60/40 with 40% of Bama fans "worried" about his less than stellar record combined with his "prickish" attitude. Course there are those that immediately said, "In Saban we trust".
Personally, I think he will be fine. I think Saban sees how the game is evolving and he thinks Kiffin will get them there.
Buck Fama!
Bet Kiffin's ego shows and he deviates from the traditional Bama.... run the ball/little screens. Bet he wants to take to the air more. Bama's success offensively has been due to the running game and safe passes, a success that Kiffin may not stick with....and with an inexperienced QB. Its going to be interesting to see play out and even better when Kiffin gets run out of Tuscerlooser.
I don't think Bama is as talented this year as they have been. Some question marks at QB. As soon as they lose a game, their fans will be out for blood. I can't wait...

Kiffin is a run heavy coordinator and Bama has the horses. I think he will bolt on them the second a HC job is open. He has lost whatever shine he had after the job at at USC. My guess is he stays out of any controversy and that includes any issues with Saban. This is purely resume building on his part.
