Saban should have stuck with Hurts!!

If you aren't trolling, you're delusional.
How is that delusional? He's now a 2 year starter with injury concerns. If next year was his 1st season starting as a RS Jr, he could have had a heistman type season, stayed injury free maybe, and be a projected top10 pick after just 1 season. If he were to have played as a RS Jr and Sr who knows how high he would have been ranked but I'd guess he would be the #1 pick in that scenario. He's going to fall down draft boards now with this injury as he's not been able to finish a season yet.

You are delusional thinking that any guy with NFL aspirations is going to willingly sit for three years in order to play two. Fifth year players are going to be projects or guys who missed significant time with injury. All-Americans and high round picks aren't going to hang out on the bench. There are 129 other teams to whom they can transfer. To think otherwise is to ignore reality.

Its delusional because it was never going to happen. Your personal feelings about the good ole days when a guy might sit for 3 years is irrelevant.

You make some decent points on occasion with other topics. You re off the reservation on this.

Yeah that wasnt happening.

Bama wasnt keeping Tua until he had waited his turn behind Hurts and Bama wasnt beating UGA that nite with Hurts finishing the game.
Bama also never won a championship with Tua playing the whole year, even lost 2 games in the regular season with Tua as the day 1 starter. I still contend that Bama would have been better off sticking with Hurts regardless of whether Tua would have waited out his turn or transferred.

Bama looks out of sorts to me. Bama has won championships by a strong downhill running game and solid defense. They would suffocate you like a boa. This year, their offense is much more QB dependent because they're slinging it around more. (likely due to Tua at QB) Their defense is not at a level that they were and Saban seems different as well. This brings me a lot of joy because I detest the very existence of those azzwipes.

I agree. That's my whole point, Bama changed their identity when they went all in on Tua, thus my reasoning as to why they should have stayed with Hurts!

They wouldn't be hurting like they are now:D

Bama is not losing games because Tua is the QB instead of Hurts.

If Bama has an issue with identity its moreso on the other side of the ball.

Yeah.

They lost 2 games this year giving up 46 and 48.

And scored 41 and 45.

Yes they are losing games because Tua, as QB, cannot finish a season. Doesn't matter how good you are if you can't finish out a season healthy, especially playing behind their OL. They also are losing because they completely changed their physical philosophy on offense by going with Tua. Injuries certainly hurt them on the defensive side of the ball but everyone can go cry me a river on that one, check out their recruiting rankings, injuries should never be an excuse for them the last 10 years.

Because a true freshman replacing a fifth year senior should be no big deal, right?

No need in rehashing the previous.

We dont agree and that wont change.

You shouldn't have to be using a Freshman at the number 1 position on defense the way Saban has recruited the last 10 years.

I'd ask how you reached that conclusion, but I can't imagine the answer will be anything other than another logic demolition derby, so I would just as soon leave you to your delusions.

You would agree though that Tua has been injured and him not playing hurt Alabama? Would you also agree that Hurts is not injured and still in the hunt for a couple of championships? I agree with you that Tua is probably the better QB of the 2 when both are healthy and playing in a passing offense but I don't think it's enough of a difference to matter in college football and feel that Hurts is better for the college game as he's the best running back in the country this year. Hurts is a one man wrecking crew, Tua is part of an extremely talented GROUP of offensive talent. I also believe changing offensive philosophies had a bigger impact than Bama folks will admit. I'll agree to disagree though as well!

You have the best coach in the country, you are linebacker U, you get basically everyone you want when it comes to recruiting, please tell me the Bama reasoning for why you think you only have 2 capable Fr to play inside LB?

We re still at square 1.

Ironically Hurts needed Tua to get hurt to even be in the mix for one of those championships.

It’s easy to look good when you run a wide open offense against teams who don’t play defense.

What would people say if Saban stuck with Hurts, Tua transferred, they didn’t land his brother, and still didn’t win a title?

His brother is never going to play much at Bama, what does he have to do with it?

Correct. One mo' time print it out and hang it on the wall, NOBODY GETS BETTER RIDING THE BENCH AND WATCHING EVERYBODY ELSE PLAYING, NOBODY. That's a fairy tale told to kids and their parents who ride the bench to keep them quiet.
