Saban's thoughts on Tennessee...

why do you think, liberal use of the word here but stick with me, that saban is "a total piece (total piece, wtf?) of garbage as a human being the wins on a unprecedented level"?

Meant to say that wins on a historically unprecedented level. As far as why I think hes a piece of garbage...Hes notorious for oversigning. That means he's lying to these kids. He tells them he has room for them then come signing day. He tells them either to grayshirt or go elsewhere. By that time they're options are limited. And that's just scratching the surface. Look at the way he acts towards everyone around him during a game. Hes truly a miserable person that yells and berates everyone around him. Hes also a liar. Lots of coaches deny interest in jobs while currently employed elsewhere, but nobody has done it as emphatically as he did. He totally blew up on any reporter that mentioned bama saying over and overagain he wwasn't going to leave Miami...and of course

By far the worst fans and state I have ever been too. There are no words to describe how much I hate the state of Alabama. I would have to upload a picture of my anus with a dingleberry hanging off so as to provide an adequate comparison to what Alabama is like.

Sorry I blacked out...what happened?

Better not ask the lsu fan.

The only oversinging accusation Ive heard of was that a few players claimed that he forced them to get a medical redshirt, which he said that the teams physicians make those decisions, not the coach, not the players. Other than that, Alabama does not release scholarship information and no reliable source has come out with anything. I think you're trying to find something bad about him as a person because he coaches for Alabama.

Can't make any mistakes...on offense, special teams, in coverage, or tackling against Bama...and even that might not be enough.

They're probably gonna keep 7 or 8 in the box, and dare Worley to beat them. That's what anyone who has watched the Vols would do.

On offense, they'll just play their game, and look for opportunities to go deep against a young secondary.

Bama's tough. Maybe not as fast as Oregon, but tougher.

Can we hang? Yes. If we play our best game of the year.

Can we win? Maybe, but we'll need to be +3 in turnovers...outgain Bama...and go 75% on 3rd down conversions. Palardy will need to be perfect, and long.

Tall order.

Go Vols.

I'm not going to provide a link but at your leisure please visit Oversigning.com. That is a reliable source. They cover this issue very well and have meticulously documented how Saban is far and away the worst offender of this practice...He signs between 118-120 players every 4 year cycle which is freaking outrageous.

Alabama will be a huge test and as coach Jones would say a great opportunity for our team. Hostile atmosphere down there and a very good football team. We need to not turn the ball over at all, and try to run it effectively to burn clock.

Keep it as close as possible till the 4th.....

Screw that, we just need to score more points than them.:)

From oversigning.com

There are only two possible explanations for the numbers (no sh*t):

1. Saban did not oversign: because when he signed 24 it took him to 85 (which if you remember on NSD when Saban told the media they signed what they had room for) and the 10 departures since NSD have created 10 openings, which have not been filled by walk-ons, and Alabama will go into the season with 73 scholarship players.

2. Saban did oversign: because with only 12 departing players on NSD and only a couple of open scholarships from last year there is no way he had room for 24 guys and it took X number of the 10 players leaving since NSD in order for him to get back down to 85. If Saban did oversign, then this is a prime example of how the new "roster management rules" for oversigning in the SEC are ineffective. Even with signing 24, which is 1 under the 25 enrollment limit, it is very possible that Alabama oversigned -- the only way they didn't is if they played last year with 73 scholarship players, which would mean the 12 under 85 from last year + the departure of 12 to the NFL and graduation would then justify the 24 they signed to get to 85. Then in which case, with the 12 departures since NSD, Alabama would be at 73 going into this season. Which in turn raises the question as to why 3 guys are being moved to medical hardship scholarships when there could be football scholarships that are left unused -- don't those guys deserve better for their sacrifice, especially when the room is there?

In summary, we might not have Saban's scholarship numbers, but we feel pretty confident that we have his number down pat by now. This is the second year that we have been able to forecast the amount of attrition to take place after NSD almost to the exact number. Last year we nailed it on the number, this year we said 11 and there has been 12 thus far. Not too shabby considering we don't have his numbers.

The only person that can clear this up is Nick Saban and he has the perfect opportunity to do it tomorrow at SEC Media Days. All he has to do is come clean on his scholarship numbers.

so they said nothing

Nick Saban: 166–55–1

Bear Bryant: 323–85–17

Robert Neyland: 173–31–12

Philip Fulmer: 152–52

Pat Summitt: 1098–208 (wow, and every recruit she had graduated)

Hes going for his 4th championship over the course of 5 seasons. That's winning on an unprecedented level. It's just that usually if somebody is head and shoulders above everyone else in the country at what they do...they're cheating. Not trying to just straight out hate on the guy but it's true. There are a lot of great coaches in America that work their butts off. Yet none of them are in the same stratosphere as him a coach. And it's not that he's just some genius or anything. He was very average coach in the NFL.

so they said nothing

They also say that in Saban's first four classes he signed 25 in 2007, 32 in 2008, 27 in 2009 and 28 in 2010. That is a total of 113 which is 28 over the 85 limit - or in other words an entire full signing class over. When looking at how few JUCO's that includes it is clear that Saban is trying to win by war of attrition with shady transfers and medical scholarships. Spring practice is basically a tryout. Saban is very defensive and secretive over this for reasons that have nothing to do with legalities... Just like whining over having so many opponents with a bye week before they played Alabama in 2009 or whining about the BCS before the SECCG last year when he was afraid a loss to Georgia might exclude Bama, Nick doesn't mind talking to the media when he is lobbying or expressing a grievance but takes his ball and goes home when pressed on how he has signed so darn many players without going over the 85 limit.

On a side note: If this game is somehow close in the second half, you can bank on having to beat both Bama and the refs. Slive and his minions would hate the thought of their golden goose getting tripped up by Tennessee.

Lol classic volnation. Blaming the refs before the game has even started
