Well, when you have to work days in Kingsport, and have about 2 hours to get to the game, usually traffic is pretty bad coming in around 4, plus the roads are not going to be perfect condition to speed. At least there is a little cushion at 6 or 7. But, I realize that not everyone has that drive. How do you figure? If the game starts at 5 you shouldn’t be on the interstate at 5…
Unless it's your kid at a bus stop that gets hit with rogue debris. I don't know. 45 mph wind and a stick hurts.Yeah, I grew up in Rochester, NY and we almost never closed school, even with a few feet of snow. But, the difference is that they have a massive fleet of plows that would run continuously and clear every road. It doesn't make sense to budget for that in Knoxville and the hills add to our woes.
On the other hand, Knox county schools closing for wind last Friday was ridiculous.
It is already FREE for students, they only pay $10 for football games, all other sports are free.A good move would be to make the game free and general admission, sit wherever you want. Of course the blue hairs would be pissed, but F em. At least make it free for students so that hopefully they’ll all walk to the game and pack it.
Time was, you used to rain to the magnetic card scanner and they'd let you in! I remember going to a game when Bruce was coach. I had tied an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. . .They buy them online since the internet was invented(not really started a few years ago they are online)…
9 inches in Lonsdale and the snow is deep too.It is already FREE for students, they only pay $10 for football games, all other sports are free.
BTW…classes don’t start untill Jan 22 so most students are not in town.
One of mine is sitting across from me 220 miles from campus, the other one is snowed into her condo up Cherokee Trail. She is only in Knoxville because she is a Grad Assistant but she can’t get down Cherokee Trail. See picture from much earlier today(approx 2)
