Sam Hartman (Wake Forest transfer)

I completely agree. I think Clemson is going to do everything they can to take away our run game. I expect them to key on stopping the run, play press coverage and force Milton to make tough throws. It will be a huge test for him.
Gonna be interested to see if they've got the guy to play press/man on us and if we have the WR's to beat that. If we can't beat it, it's gonna be a long, long day. I don't think we can line up and force the run against this defense.

I’m not sure how healthy Bru is supposed to be. If he’s not full strength it’s gonna be Keyton and Squirrel with Merrell maybe? Keyton has been a pleasant surprise this season, but we’re going to be pretty inexperienced playing against a good D. Hopefully Heupel and Co. are getting creative in the game plan. I could see Fant having a big day and maybe we’ll actually try to get the backs involved in the pass game.

Is McCoy banged up?

Btw, anyone see where Coastal Carolina's qb was going to transfer but got hurt in the bowl game. That is the unfortunate risk we go back and forth on regarding for or against sitting out. Though this had nothing to do with the NFL.

That’s what I’ve heard on Hubbs podcast and what I’ve seen on Twitter .

Milton wasn't the starter this season and his only start was a month ago. Now he's playing without our best WR (not counting Tillman) and Bru isn't 100%. He'll also be playing against the best front seven he's ever faced. If he airmails 10 balls, then I agree that it's cause for concern, but I've seen too many people that want to write him off if he isn't Hooker 2.0. I just want him to show that he can lead an offense for 4 quarters and take what the defense gives him. Take the deep shots selectively and sustain some drives. He needs to show leadership and the ability to play smart football.

This might be the most level-headed post about Milton in the history of Volnation.

I think that’s a good fit for him.
Won't lie. I'm still not sold on Milton. Hope he's turned the corner and what we saw in the bowl game is just a taste of what we'll get next year, but I'd feel a helluva lot better if we'd gotten Hartman. Having said that, I like the message it sends to the players on the roster and to the recruits.

He has his moments still that make you worry, but he has improved greatly from last year to this year! The way he played against a defense as good as clemsons says a lot. They called plays super conservatively as well too. Next season if they turn him loose I think he can do very well. I’m good with Milton, Iamaleava, and Jackson TBH. I think Jackson has very good potential, and of course we all know how highly touted Iamaleava is. Milton next year the sky is the limit with his physical tools. I have faith in Milton, Heupel, and Halze.
