Sam Montgomery. Sam Webb has a blog coming up on him, so I'll keep my comments brief.
-- As we told us last night, the Montgomerys had Greg Robinson in to see him yesterday during the day, and then South Carolina last night.
-- Sam-M and his mom are in a not-having-fun stage right now, an agonizing stage for them of trying to balance their closeness with each other with the fact that the further-away option looks better in a lotta ways ... this is not easily lining up for them.

Knoxville can't be that far away...I'm not sure where in Scarolina he is...but I know the coast is about 6 hours so it can't be that far.

He's about 300 mi/5 hours away from Knoxville. UNC is about 200 mi/3.5 hours. USCe is obviously very close. LSU is a world away.

i live in spartanburg (duncan) & greenwood isnt that far. i graduated from byrnes & we traveled down there a few years back for a playoff game think it took an hour or so. i can be in knoxville in 2.5 hrs - 2hrs 45 mins so around or less than 4hrs from greenwood to knoxville. Everybody making the last minute push for the best pass rushing DE left uncommitted, I think it comes down to the 3 listed, LSU has seemed to be in good shape all along but UT and UNC are pushing hard. Right now it's a crap shoot with anybodys guess as to the outcome but I like our chances right now as good as anybody else's. Would be a great pick up for us if we can land him.

This is one kid im really wanting bad! Idk why honestly but i think this kid will turn into a stud if he can get into Monte's system. I can seriously see this kid making it big in the NFL.

New article up on ESPN that has his final 3 of North Carolina, LSU and Michigan! & states he may not even visit UT this weekend! What's going on here? I liked our chances with ol Sam!
& MICHIGAN?? Please explain why anyone from the south would want to go to Michigan & freeze with the 2nd string Big 10!

This is from his mom, today.


"We are still considering six schools," Montgomery concluded, listing Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, LSU, Tennessee and Michigan. "We'll get it down to three before next Wednesday. Sam's going to announce his choice between 10 and 10:30 that morning in Charlotte at the ESPN studios."

Well, he has visited all 3 of those schools lately so I would say they are in the picture. The fact we are not mentioned is strange. He is suppose to visit this weekend.

It is probably ESPN trying to ruffle our feathers. Remember, they hate us. :)
