Recruiters from North Carolina, LSU and Tennessee are scheduled to visit with Greenwood DE Sam Montgomery (6-5 240) Thursday. And his mother said Wednesday afternoon they plan to cut more schools from the list soon. "We will talk again tonight seriously about trimming the list," Mrs. Montgomery said. Clemson also has been in touch and invited them in for an unofficial visit this weekend once they return from Tennessee. But Mrs. Montgomery did not think they would make the visit. Montgomery has on his list USC, Clemson, Michigan, North Carolina, LSU and Tennessee.

This guy doesnt know if he is visiting or not. He has no inside information which is why this is printed in a blog rather than a column.

If he is still visiting then he is still considering.

I'll agree that he will probably go to UNC but UT still has a slight chance. Montgomery really likes the idea of playing for Monte Kiffin.

The venom from the Cock boards towards David Reaves for visiting with this kid is great. Can you imagine if SM becomes a Vol -- implosion.

I hope you're right. I have a good feeling about him too. Kiffin wanted to have last shot at him so he asked him to change up his visit schedule so he could have him this weekend and he did. His mom loves coach Kiff also. That can only help. We NEED this kid. We haven't had a really good DE since Haralson left. Martin and Walker have great potential but wouldn't hurt to add Montgomery to the fold.

When he adds weight he has the same frame as Jason Hall, only he will be a lot faster/quicker.

Tonight Tennessee defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and Vol assistants Ed Orgeron and David Reaves will be at the home. Also tonight, LSU head coach Les Miles and assistant Brick Haley are to visit. Montgomery will leave Saturday morning on an official visit to Tennessee. He also is still considering USC, Clemson and Michigan.

LSU still has a chance but an article published today said that it will most likely be UNC. Plus the insiders are saying UNC. I will try to find that article.
