he is visiting us soon and is excited about it but who knows. here's part of an article.

Montgomery said he sees UT's coaching change as an advantage. With no impressions made, he can be one of the first to wow Kiffin and his defensive staff.

"I see that as an opportunity to play. A new defensive coordinator is coming in and doesn't know anybody," Montgomery said. "That means I could play early."

Montgomery is definitely feeling wanted by the Vols.

"I'm hearing from them a lot," he said. "They really want me to be a part of their defense. (UT head) Coach (Lane) Kiffin wants to talk to me and get to know me better and I want to get to know him better."

I was watching the All American preactice today and we weren't even on the list when they showed his school... maybe it was a mistake though

Yeah, they dont put us on ne ones list. Ben Martin didnt have Tennessee on his list before the game , and he picked us.

Just because they don't put us on the doesn't mean they're not considering us. During the McDonald's All-American game they didn't have us on the list of Scotty Hopson's schools.

I don't think that is true. I remember them talking about him coming to Tennessee to play for Bruce several times in that game.

Edit: that was the Jordan game I was thinking of. You may be right.

Everyone who spoke with uncommitted defensive end Sam Montgomery(Greenwood, S.C./Greenwood) got a LSU-North Carolina-Michigan feeling from him. That makes sense as Montgomery has named the Tigers his leader in multiple news articles during recent weeks, citing his relationship with defensive line coach Earl Land. Also, North Carolina defensive line coach John Blake has made a huge impact on his recruitment and Michigan is working him hard as well (fellow defensive end Craig Roh, a Wolverines commit, has struck up a friendship with Montgomery this week).
Montgomery hasn't eliminated very many schools and quite honestly, his decision could go all the way to National Signing Day and may not even be resolved then. There are simply too many schools in the mix and too many things that could happen between now and then to think otherwise.

One thing to note here about LSU is that Earl Lane is likely leaving. He is entertaining offers from multiple schools. That's why they were trying to get Orgeron.

prolly, Monte wants a safety in this class. wouldnt hurt. You know how the saying goes, "Who wouldnt want to play for Monte and O?"

I think we can get Swearinger back if we want him. SC has like 6 db's in this upcoming class with Gilmore, Holloman, Jeffrey (maybe LB), Addison, Payne, and they are chasing a few more. They have to have some 13 or so DB's on the roster because I know they are returning 8 or so.

"Coach Steele just got signed today at 2 p.m., and less than two hours later he was already talking to me in person. How great of an honor is that? That was high class," Montgomery told Tigerillustrated.com Thursday evening. "Of all the people he could have seen first, he chose to see me right away. That says a lot. I'm glad for that. I was real happy. It shows that I'm one of their top priorities."

On Wednesday, Lane made a trip to Greenwood to introduce new LSU assistant Brick Haley from the Chicago Bears to Montgomery. He apparently made a convincing case, as the Tigers are still on the top of the four-star lineman's list.

"I like him a lot," Montgomery said of Haley. "LSU is still in the lead. I'd probably say they're a big step or two ahead of the other schools right now."
