San Francisco and San Jose are 2 of the most desirable places to live in America. Beautiful vistas, world class restaurants, excellent museums, parks, and things to do.
Yes, they're having some problems and it's affecting one of their core businesses-tourism and conventions, a $9.4 billion, 25 million visitor bonanza. Which means it will get fixed. Calm down.
Their mayor died in Dec. and the coming special election has 3 main candidates, with the biggest issue being housing and homelessness. The housing problems are because of restrictions on height in most areas. Nobody wants apartments diminishing their values and the obstruction is fierce. It's no different than in other cities with limited land like Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Honolulu.

McDaughter visited Japan on her study abroad recently. Amazingly clean country. Orderly and courteous people. Her favorite place by far.
They are a very closed, racist society. I heard.
So the common sense you posses lets you think if a cop rolls by someone shooting up theyll just look the other way....explains a lot

I honestly love visiting there. Its an awesome city. It definitely has its share of homeless, but so does every city. You just need to know where to go and where to stay away from. Im heading up next weekend with my wife and daughter. Staying down by the Wharf. Gonna go to Ghradelli, Golden Gate Bridge, trolley car, Giants game.
