Woke LA judge with links to DA George Gascon declares MISTRIAL for robbery suspect because defendant didn't get a proper night's SLEEP in jail

A California judge, who hails from a powerful Democrat family who endorsed LA DA George Gascon, granted a mistrial for a man facing life in prison because he was sleepy.

The alleged criminal apparently did not get a good night’s rest before the trial after spending the night in a cell without a bed or blanket.

Vamazae Elgin Banks, 24, appeared in court after threatening a McDonald's worker with a gun before stealing less than $100.

Court records accused Banks of telling the cashier at the fast food joint that he would kill her if she didn't produce the cash quickly enough, allegedly telling her 'hurry up or I'll blow your brains out!'

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Lowenthal made the mistrial ruling after he decided the alleged robber couldn’t take proper notes due to his lack of proper sleep. Trials like these typically cost the judicial system between $600-$1,300.

Woman Beheaded On California Street As Witnesses Watch In Horror

A California woman’s head was severed by a sword-wielding maniac in broad daylight Thursday as witnesses watched in horror, police said.

The horrifying attack occurred in San Carlos, a small town about halfway between San Jose and San Francisco in the state’s wealthy Silicon Valley region. San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies found the victim dead just before noon after they were flagged down by a witness, KNTV reported. Her head had been cut off, according to the report.

“The head was underneath the car and she was laying in the back of the car — just severed,” Chapel Thorborne, a neighbor, told KGO. “After he cut her head off, he came walking up, him and his two friends. And they walked right by me and they arrested him.”

Damn. California not the state to look at for "this is how it's done" in safety, jobs, energy or cost of living.

This is the second in a four-part series looking into the juvenile justice system in Los Angeles, as told by people who work there. It’s a world where youth convicted of violent felonies are said to control the jails, while law enforcement are helpless to stop it due to defunding and downgrades to formerly strict laws.

It could only happen in Los Angeles: A big Hollywood producer helps redesign a county commission tasked with downsizing the number of incarcerated youths in the era of "defund the police."

It was 2018, and Scott Budnick, producer of the Hangover movies, was part of a group of social activists who successfully fought for decarceration in California. The end result is community service instead of prison — despite statistics showing this approach isn't keeping residents safe.

Between 2016 and 2021, murders increased 22%, with aggravated assault and rape up 18% and 6%, respectively. Despite this, the number of felony adult arrests was its lowest since 1979, while juvenile arrests have not been this low since before 1966, when record-keeping began, the California Department of Justice reported.

Still, the Los Angeles County Probation Commission was revamped and expanded with additional duties in 2018, increasing the number of commissioners from 10 to 15 members policing the Los Angeles County Probation Department. The agency is the largest probation department in the nation, with more than 6,500 employees and a $900 million budget.

Commissioners would address “a sharp public mistrust of the department [and] a failure in stewardship of public funds,” a report said.

The creation of the commission was driven in part by reports of sexual assault, 11 beatings, and a dozen instances of pepper spray misuse, the report said. It did not state that hundreds of officers are injured on the job, many with fractures and career-ending injuries, one officer said.

Gavin Newsom signs law creating Courts for homeless and mentally ill

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law that will establish courts for homeless people or those suffering from severe mental health and substance abuse disorders, calling it a "new path forward" for thousands of residents in his state lacking permanent shelter.

The law, the CARE bill, will allow first responders, clinicians, and families to petition a civil court to create a "CARE plan" for those experiencing mental illness such as schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, as well as those living under homeless conditions.

Homeless vagrant takes up residency on Los Angeles homeowner's PORCH and refuses to leave - as woman who lives there alone claims cops have done nothing to help protect her: 'I'm concerned for my safety'

A Los Angeles homeowner who is housing an uninvited homeless man on her porch is concerned for her safety after the police have 'done nothing' to remove him.

Shacola Thompson, a resident of Van Nuys, said the homeless man has nestled up on her patio furniture about ten times this month.

Thompson first noticed unusual activity outside her home when she found graffiti on her porch near Hazeltine Avenue and Sherman Way. She was able to take a peek at her front door camera and saw the unidentified man lounging on her outdoor couch.

'He came to my house yesterday morning and tried to break in,' Thompson told ABC 7. 'I'm concerned about my safety.'

'He could come in,' she later added. 'He could harm me. He could bogart his way into my house. It's not fair.'

Despite multiple attempts for police intervention, the homeless man keeps showing up.

Freeloaders! LA's homeless infuriate locals by boasting about Hooking Up Washing Machines to Street Power Lines and setting up HUGE 10-man Tents on sidewalks - complete with flowerbeds!

  • Sagging tents, rusting RVs, and makeshift structures have become common from Hollywood to Venice Beach - and even in the shadow of City Hall
Images and video show homeless in Los Angeles syphoning water and power in camps sprouting throughout the city's streets - with some of the brazen encampments even boasting working washing machines.

Over the past year, the camps have become increasingly bold, putting up full-sized tents and cordoning off entire streets, much to the chagrin of outraged locals.

Now, citizens have snapped evidence that the urban outposts are stealing water and power from the city to maintain a surprisingly lavish lifestyle while living out on the street, taking water from hydrants and electricity from any outlet they come across.

One photo snapped by an awestruck bystander showed one such encampment in Hollywood, where multiple people were seen washing what looked to be their cars and motorcycles with syphoned water from a nearby hydrant.

California Suspect With 3 Prior Murder Arrests, Paroled in 2020 Again Charged With Murder

A man who has been arrested three times for murder and was released on parole in 2020 is now accused of killing a fourth individual in California, a report says.

Bobby Dozier, 37, is once again in police custody following the killing of Emari Cook on July 14 in Richmond, just north of Oakland, according to KTVU.

Police told the station that Dozier allegedly drove up to Cook, exited his vehicle and shot him.

Investigators added that rifle casings were found at the scene and the car used in the attack was tracked down to Dozier with the help of a highway license plate reader system.

Vendors Abandon popular San Francisco farmers market as drug addicts overtake streets

A San Francisco resident is warning that one of the city's popular farmers markets is on the verge of extinction after being "taken over" by drug dealers and addicts from nearby homeless encampments.

Jenny Chan, who shared a photo online that shows how encampments have overwhelmed the Civic Center, described the city as on its way to becoming "the next Detroit" on "Fox & Friends First."

"People are leaving. Businesses are closing down. It's very unacceptable to live this lifestyle. I mean, the farmers market used to be the heart and soul of our city, and now we can't even have that," Chan said Tuesday.

I read an article not long ago that said people were just leaving their cars unlocked and putting signs in the windows stating that there is nothing inside and that they could check for themselves.
I guarantee that before I would surrender like that, I'd rig my car up with something that would really make a thief regret stealing my crap.

Yeah but YOU would go to prison for violating the thief's right to earn a living.

Maybe so, but I don't plan on visiting a liberal crap hole ever again. If someone comes in my driveway and reaches in my car and gets a 1000 volt shock trying to steal my crap, there wouldn't be a sole on a jury in Tennessee convict me of any wrong doing.
