Sanctuary Cities

I get that. I’m not sure how I feel about it. Certainly feels icky. And certainly ripe for abuse.

In a vacuum, I guess I can see merit.
We don’t live in a vacuum though.
I have no problem with it. Like most other things the government shouldn't be RUNNING operations, but they should be OVERSEEING how that are run. No knock inspections should be the norm. Abuse of prisoners should be an offense that lands the oppressor in the very same prison.

I'm tired of the governments inefficiency in running things. The government shouldn't be RUNNING air traffic control. They shouldn't be RUNNING the TSA. They should ONLY be ensuring the laws and standards are adhered to.

The bus arrived nearly a week after the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to pursue a lawsuit and criminal probe against Texas over its migrant bussing program.

Massachusetts: Migrants Will Not Be Housed at Yarmouth Resort

Migrants will not be housed at the Yarmouth Resort in Massachusetts after locals protested the move, which would have pushed out paying residents.

The move comes after local residents strongly protested the push to house migrants at the Yarmouth Resort, which typically housed resident workers who paid weekly rent. Prior to the proposal, the Yarmouth Resort reportedly began to dramatically hike rent prices in order to push paying residents out, a claim that the owners denied. After initial outcry, the proposed rent hikes were dropped. Per the Cape Code Times:

Hundreds of Migrants are HIDDEN Behind Black Curtain at Chicago's O'Hare Airport as desperate families are left sleeping on the floor for up to 10 days after being flown in from Texas

Hundreds of migrants are being hidden behind a black curtain at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, with families left sleeping on the floor for up to 10 days at a time.

This influx of asylum seekers is a result of Texas transporting hundreds of thousands of migrants to Democratic-led cities as a protest against federal border policies - causing many like Chicago to reach their housing limits.

Currently, 433 migrants are seeking shelter at the airport, where black curtains are being used to conceal the worsening humanitarian situation.

Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin (R) is calling on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) to resign after an illegal alien, previously arrested by United States Border Patrol, is accused of murdering a 28-year-old man.

As Breitbart News reported, 20-year-old illegal alien Carlos Corrales-Ramirez of Honduras was arrested and charged this week with second-degree murder and first-degree assault in the stabbing death of 28-year-old Jario Hernandez-Sanchez in the city of Troy, New York.

McLaughlin called out Hochul for her supporting New York’s sanctuary state policy that promises to shield criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

REVEALED: NYC's $4.7 BILLION Migrant Bill is Equal to Cost of critical services like Sanitation, Parks and Fire Department COMBINED - as Mayor Eric Adams warns crisis will destroy the city, with schools already overwhelmed

New York City's migrant crisis will cost the city more than $4billion this fiscal year if the situation continues - as mayor Eric Adams warned the influx of asylum seekers could destroy the city.

Despite mayor Adams' cries for help from the state and federal government, the city has not received aid to cover the extra costs, so the $4.7billion would come from the city's budget. That amount is equal to the budgets for the city's sanitation, fire and parks departments combined.

There are now nearly 60,000 migrants in the city's care, with about 21,000 new migrant children starting school this year. As the school year kicked off on Thursday, some schools were forced to turn away students as the classrooms overflowed.

City officials have said they expect the number asylum seeker population to reach nearly 33,980 households this fiscal year.

The city is currently paying about $385 a night per migrant family that needs housing and feeding. According to Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, asylum seekers are costing the city roughly $10 million every day.

Migrant Busted For Allegedly Punching Wife In The Face While She Held Toddler in Latest Domestic Incident At NYC Shelters: sources

A migrant at a Big Apple shelter was busted for allegedly pummeling his wife Thursday night —the latest in a disturbing spate of domestic violence incidents among asylum seekers that advocates say “is not surprising.”

Christopher Aquillon allegedly punched his 33-year-old wife in the face as she held her 2-year-old son, while demanding her cell phone inside the shelter on Third Avenue near East 97th Street in Carnegie Hill, according to the sources.

The wife handed over the phone, but Aquillon, 38, allegedly punched her a second time as he scrolled through it — leaving her with a gash on her forehead at around at 10:40 p.m., the sources said.

The spouse-on-spouse attack came after stats this week revealed at least 20 domestic violence arrests at the Roosevelt Hotel, which houses asylum seekers, since May.

In total, domestic violence incidents accounted for more than half of all crime at the formerly swanky Midtown hotel.

Brandon Johnson plans to Move 1,600 Immigrants From Police Stations To Camps Before Winter

Mayor Brandon Johnson plans to relocate over 1,000 immigrants who are waiting for a spot in city-operated shelters from Chicago police stations to camps, as hundreds continue to arrive from the southern border.

Johnson offered a preview of his initiative to establish "more suitable" camps with large tents for over 1,600 immigrants, with the goal of relocating them out of police buildings by the winter. This is the latest move by Johnson's administration as law enforcement authorities and community members continue to express their opposition to the growing number of immigrants in the Windy City.

tents during winter for people from tropical nations. splendid Joe…

The gun was stolen from a federal agent, apparently who had never heard of the "don't display **** that is important to you, like your CDs and guns" rule for his or her car, while left alone.

Guns are guns. That is another question all together.

Regarding sanctuary cities, while I recognize the fact that deportation can sometimes make situations worse (kind of like sending a welfare mother an hour or two each way to work for Dick Clark's American Bandstand Cafe, while your child has to be left relatively unsupervised only to end up shooting and killing another kid at school), I think the idea is generally stupid.

I personally have nothing against Mexicans. I think they're fine people, most often very courteous, and designers of outstanding cuisine. But something has to be done about Mexican (specifically) immigration in this country.

It's not even the crime that concerns me. Crime is crime. Any ******* can commit a crime. But Mexican immigration to this country is fundamentally different than anything we've ever experienced. No other group to immigrate to this country (indigenous people are pretty much all dead and can't immigrate here anyhow because they're already here) can say it has "legitimate" claims to a good portion of this nation's rightfully earned land. It doesn't help matters either that they're basically ghettosizing themselves in our American Southwest.

While I think our govt. is too strong to allow Hispanicization to reclaim the West, I don't particularly want to flirt with the notion.

Give current illegals a simplified pathway to citizenship and tax payer status, but clamp down like a mother****er on the border. It needs to be highly regulated from now on. Like some scholars have pointed out, the diversity of American immigrants in our past allowed for assimilation and integration, because no one immigrant group was ever powerful enough to completely clamp down on another or to challenge the admittedly primarily Anglo-Saxon values (like individual liberty and democracy) of this country (that's not a nationalistic or racialist statement; merely an observation of fact). At the moment, however, we are experiencing our least diverse immigrant population, and this lack of diversity means a potentially powerful bloc against acclimating to and accepting American values and American sovereignty. I don't think a serious challenge to American sovereignty in our West will occur, but, like I alluded to above, I don't particularly want to risk it out of the name of "compassion" either. Ethics are ethics, and I'm looking out for the American people while trying not to be a dick at the same time.
Another issue is they can’t freaking drive, there have been many deaths in Tennessee from people from Mexico driving cars, got here illegally, often with a Mexico license, can’t read the signs, whether because it’s in English or illiteracy or whatever, going the wrong way, etc.. I have a friend who is Highway Patrol and he says it is a real problem right now, especially in the Southeast.. y’all be careful out there
