The blue squirrel is lonely on its travels through the night while aided by the light from the fireflies.

Run that through your Putin Decoder Ring and you'll have the answer.

We don't always agree, but I want to give you props for an awesome response. I chuckled.

But you have to admit, foreign policy right now is a disaster.

As it has been since 2009.

What Saudi Arabia does to neighboring countries doesn't concern me in the least. If we were to get involved beyond an adviser role, I'd probably be a little reluctant to give approval.

And yes, I'm well aware of our advisers over there (or were) prior to.

Yeah... he realizes what he said is ridiculous and now wants to run away from it.

How is pointing out that Saudi Arabia purchased equipment from the US (among other nations) and not receiving foreign aid (like Egypt and Israel for example) running away from anything?

It's a fact. They paid outright for the items. What is there to dispute?

It is the fact that we sold them (or gave them or are helping to advise them) which is the problem.

We've placed sanctions on Russia and Iran in the past and denied them weapons and military assistance, why not sanction Saudi Arabia?

You act like all the hijackers from 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia or something.

I don't see how you can defend arming the Saudis (whether they paid for the weapons or we gave them to them is of no significance, imo), yet have no problem with sanctions and not arming Iran and Russia...

Ummm, seriously?

We were supplying Iran with arms until they decided to take our citizens hostage in what was arguably an act of war. That tends to get a few commercial deals cancelled.

And we don't supply Russia with arms? Really? Oh you silly guy.

How many terrorist supporting nations does Russia provide arms to?

Come down off that high horse before you hurt yourself.

I'm not entirely positive he's in control of his faculties at this point.

I mean, it's not like the Russians haven't been stealing our designs since the 1940s (probably earlier) and copying them for sale. And who is our largest competitor on the arms market?

Just might be Russia...of course, their stuff is mainly second rate but from time to time they come up with a winner.

America has been pressuring France for over a year about the Mistrial ships that Russia purchased... these were not gifts from France, but Russia paid for them. And the US still stood in the way.

Aren't we supposed to hold ourselves to a higher standard?

And stop deflecting. It is about America helping Saudi Arabia. Get back on topic...

Are we helping them?

I'm not the one thinking we should have been selling weapons to the Russians.

And the French just as easily could have told us to bite a big one. Yet they made the determination not to send them over.

And this is America's fault? Since when have the French ever caved into American pressure?
