Ummm.... this isn't a volnation rumor. This is a list of names from NFL.com of potential replacements for your school. The only reason this "rumor" is on Volnation is that Coach Cut is a former UT coach. Just like back in the day when Fulmer left, Spurrier was listed as a potential name to replace him at UT, and I am sure the Florida message boards discussed it then.

In total and complete seriousness, I don't remember that being discussed. I don't even remember that being a rumor.

At no time do I remember a Gator board contemplating Steve Spurrier becoming the head coach at the University of Tennessee.

I remember back in 2010, Chris Petersen of Boise St was considered a heavy front runner and Muschamp pretty much came out of the blue. I would expect the same from Foley again. I doubt it's anyone being mentioned here or on Gatorcountry (which has really gone down in the last year).

It really wouldn't. I don't think anyone is still pining for Gruden, and after his demands were revealed (insane salary for him and his assistants, insane buyout protection, insane level of control over the program and scheduling), any college program would be betting its future for the next 10 years on him working out.

It won't happen but I would be happy for Cut to get the job. The man is full of class. He was treated unfairly at the end of his regime at Ole Miss. He was never the problem. It was hard to recruit at Ole Miss.

But Cut is exactly where he wants and needs to be. He's at a place with no high expectations. It's a comfortable position.

Ummmm...That NFL.com article is as much a rumor as anywhere else. The author specifically states that if he were in on the search that would be his list. It is not an official UF search list.
