Not all of them quit as aggressively as he did. I'm sure we all forgive him for it. But I don't think all of us forgot about it.
Some quit more aggressively than he did. Some literally quit mid-season. Some used injury excuse. Some just didnt give full effort.
Ive said it several times before, Im not judging any of these kids during that time frame.
Callaway, Byrd, and Johnson are all better WRs.
Yall think JJ is great because of 2 plays. One where the DB slipped and he almost dropped a wide open catch. The other was truly a great play. But overall he isnt that good
I'm not judging them either. But there is a reason he had to go through what he did this spring just to get a chance to be on the team again. Pruitt didn't make anyone else do so much just to have a chance to put on the uniform again. By all accounts he earned it back and has potential to be one of our better players. But I don't think he will automatically be given the starting job unless he improves as a player as well. He hasn't even practiced since before last season so he will have to do a lot on his own before fall camp. And hopefully make big strides in camp.
Remember that time JJ destroyed Trent Thompson? Cuz I do.
We dont go 4 and ****ing 8 with JJ. We dont lose to all 3 of Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina with him. Probably win 2/3 if not all 3. Last play of the USCjr game, JGs not throwing to Palmer. The Dog gets the ball and catches it. And the vast majority of Tennessee fans know he isnt elite, but hes definitely a solid #2 SEC receiver.
Let me break this down for you... 1.) Tabor slipped because JJ is a dog. (What do I mean by that) He is the best SEC WR at attacking the ball so a slant or drag or anything like that would be really hard to defend out of phase so Tabor cheated in phase to take away the 3 step game (quick passes) he had to cheat over a little more than normal because of Jennings route running skills (he doesnt roll over a lot on routes, he cuts well)Callaway, Byrd, and Johnson are all better WRs.

We lack experience at cb but we don't know if we are in bad shape. We lack experience at wr also. Thompson is a guy who needs touches.
