I don't know. It could be past academics, playing for a small school, off-the-field issues (resolved or not), or Maybe he is just a late bloomer or didn't play football until this year (and didn't camp last Summer, like everybody else).

I know I am not an "expert," but I have learned to trust trust what my eyes see more than rankings.

Go check out our SEC record over the last 10 years. Not to mention our record against great/good competition during that time span. It is poor.
With regard to those 9-4 seasons, I am pretty sure we lost to all the teams that actually mattered, with exception to UGA.
Can we make it back to being successful? Yes. But it will take elite recruiting and elite coaching. We’ve had neither.

I would take the odds that we have both of those now! A lot of coaches can coach a bunch of 5 stars but who can put a mixture of players together with max effort and taking advantage of the above average talent that you do have. In my opinion we will prove this point this year!!! Go Vols!🍊

Realistically where do y’all see this kid playing positions wise? I heard he has electric speed.

To me, it's not just the speed. It seems he knows when to follow his blocking, and knows when to change directions. He just looks like a real player to me, not just a wanna be.

Watched his tape. He does a real good job of baiting the QB and excellent vision in the open field. Looks very thinned frame though. Definitely would need a year in the weight room.

He's got 8 months to add strength.
If he can come in around 180 lbs. Then he will contribute next year,

I'm surprised they never put Jacquez Jones or Latrell Williams back there. They must be terrible at fielding punts and kicks became they looked like big time playmakers coming out of high school
