No. You clearly bring up that Florida is currently 4 spots higher than us in recruiting. And you brought it up in the RF.You clearly didn’t read my post. Talking about their 10-win season last year while we won 5 (recall that they blew us the hell out) and their being odds on favorite to challenge UGA in the East this year. It sure as hell ain’t gonna be Tennessee, who will very likely be picked to finish no better than 4th in the East. Wasn’t talking about recruiting classes, although they’re gonna beat us in that aspect too.
With better, more accomplished, more highly regarded players? Yep. Except for Crouch and Keyton, you betcha.
If Crouch plays LB, that’s great, but we need more than one LB stud. I like Keyton, but he’s more like the WRs we already have, doesn’t solve our lack of speed at the position problem.
We badly need at least 1, probably 2 stud edge rushers, and we’re not bringing even one in. Harrison might prove to be a decent stop gap until we can (hopefully) go get a couple of studs in 2020, but he ain’t the player we need rushing the QB come August 31st.
Lol at you bringing up Means. You definitely lost the argument when you went down that road.
Bottom line, if you think bringing in the 15th rated class is gonna draw us any closer to Georgia, which already has light years more talent, and is about to bring in the 2nd rated class in the country, then I wouldn’t even suggest you try to take those orange-colored glasses, cause they’re welded to your head.
Hopefully we’ll see it this year and beyond. Sure as hell didn’t see it last year in year one. That is what everyone needs to realize. Getting the talent is one thing. Getting them in shape, teaching them fundamentals, getting their mindset right, putting them in a position to excel, etc. is what will hopefully set this staff apart from the last one.
Yes we did...Hopefully we’ll see it this year and beyond. Sure as hell didn’t see it last year in year one.
It's perspective....
If Early Signing Day didn't occur, and tomorrow we signed the likes of Wright, Crouch, Keyton, Morris, Fields, et cetera.... we'd all be ecstatic.
But since we've already signed those kids and Wright is basically a forgone conclusion that we take his signing for granted, not getting anything else feels disappointing.
Look at all the classes ahead of us. All of them had significantly better than 5-7 seasons.
It's all perspective.
Yeah, didn’t read. You guys that are so delusional about Florida.....we’re “in same boat”?
Allow me to refresh your memory about Tennessee and Florida football.
Florida has won 13 of the last 14 games we’ve played....Florida physically dominated and beat the dog crap out of Tennessee last year 47-21, and it wasn’t that close.....Florida won twice as many games last year as Tennessee, went 10-3.....and Florida, despite EVERYBODY proclaiming that Dan Mullen can’t recruit for ish, has the 11th ranked recruiting class in the country right now, which is 4 spots higher than Tennessee currently sits.
How you or anybody else can look at those facts, those of circumstances, and declare that “we’re in the same boat” is beyond me and defies even a modicum of common sense.
Perhaps we’re both chasing Georgia and Alabama, but Florida is within shouting distance, if not nipping at least on Georgia’s heels, while Tennessee hasn’t even gotten in the race.

You’re on a roll! Preach it!So is it time to start the ignore for NSD? ... What a ridiculous waste of time to sit around worrying about if CJP is going to fail as Tennessee's coach because of a few measly points in recruiting rankings by evaluators that are reputed to be less capable than our coaches.
Nonsense! Just a couple years ago, we were 9-4 in consecutive seasons in the SEC with BAD COACHING! Thereafter, no ability to develop players reared it’s ugly head and thus our present reality. Moving forward, we have established bonified coaches with a PROVEN HISTORY of developing players. Give it reasonable time and we will be back in the hunt!! If you have ever competed in sports on a legitimate level you would understand this!Tennessee football isn’t even at a respectable level anymore. We’ve been living on Tennessee football history for 15 years now. If you make history in the present, we don’t have much.
Hopefully we’ll see it this year and beyond. Sure as hell didn’t see it last year in year one.
We’re gonna have the 15th or so class in the country and no better than middle of the pack in the SEC. We’ll lose ground to our 3 biggest rivals.
Class is outstanding at OL, very good at DB and that’s about it. Got a good RB, promising QB and what looks to be two good primarily blocking TEs. Fell way short on the DL and at LB. Also missed on adding speed at WR.
As I said, good class, quality players here and there, just not the great class we needed if we’re gonna catch up to UGA, Bama and Florida.
We don't know that yet re: Florida.
Per 247, they have 23 commits with an avg. ranking of 90.53, while UT has 21 with an avg. ranking of 89.88. I am not sure how many the Gators can sign, or who is left on their board that they are likely to get. UT should get 5* Wright, and will probably lose 3* Cox. Not sure if we sign anyone else at this point, but even if we lose Cox and don't replace him, he is only a 3* so his loss won't hurt the avg. player ranking. I don't think there is enough difference in the 2 classes to say we will lose ground to the Gators. We may not make up ground on UF with this class, but certainly not lose ground.
Have you ever noticed the way bammer's WRs and TEs consistently block for RBs and other WRs? I've read countless posts ridiculing our former coach for requiring WRs and TEs to block.
