'19 SC WR/DB Kenney Solomon (Tennessee signee)

We’re gonna have the 15th or so class in the country and no better than middle of the pack in the SEC. We’ll lose ground to our 3 biggest rivals.

Class is outstanding at OL, very good at DB and that’s about it. Got a good RB, promising QB and what looks to be two good primarily blocking TEs. Fell way short on the DL and at LB. Also missed on adding speed at WR.

As I said, good class, quality players here and there, just not the great class we needed if we’re gonna catch up to UGA, Bama and Florida.
What makes you feel Florida’s class is great? Why would you put them with Bama and Georgia? Quite frankly I feel they’re in the same boat as us. Right now in the SEC everyone is chasing Georgia and Alabama and no one is even close to them.

Sounds like Pruitt isn’t working hard enough to meet your unrealistic expectations. He should definitely be fired.
I expect us to be winning 8-10 games by his 3rd year....that too “unrealistic” for ya? If it is, you should seriously reevaluate what YOU expect from Tennessee football.

Again, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY has or us calling for Pruitt to be fired, that’s a ridiculous false flag. All I’ve said is that if he is gonna get this program back to winning in a timely manner/the actual time a D1 college football coach is given these days, he’s gotta recruit better than he has to date. That’s an entirely reasonable take.

Id say given the circumstances he is recruiting very well so...

SEC has 11 teams ranked in the 2019 ncaa recruiting class top 25. As of now, Tennessee is ranked 15 in the ncaa, with 21 commits(1 five star, 10 four stars, and 10 three stars) with 2 more yet to be announced to reach a total of 23 players in the class. Ranked ahead of UT are Alabama, Georgia, Tam, LSU, Florida, and Auburn.

Aren't we ahead of Florida in the rankings?
Not at this moment, switches by recruit basically.
LSU is in 6th with around a 90.9 avg,
TN is in 15th with around an 89.9 avg.
The disparity with our class vs being inside the top 10, is almost non existent. It's just that close.

Tl;dr, we alright, need a good coaching performance above all.

So you would replace Savion Williams, Elijah Simmons, Middleton, Harrison, Crouch, and a 4.4-4.5 Means, Keyton, I may have forgot some DL,LB,WR. Wow you cra

Agree. My hope is that this coaching staff develops the he!! out of these players. Hopefully, Jeremy Pruitt and Co. will go back to the drawing board, look at their mistakes, and redeem themselves with the 2020 class. Thus far, Jeremy Pruitt has been a hair above average on the recruiting trail.

Yes it is.

Here is what I think. We could have a top 5 class and with CBJ, they would not be developed any better than the 40th plus ranked class. IF these coaches can really coach and develop players, then a 12th to 15th class will be able to compete well enough to be a top 20 team. We get there, then we can get top five classes who can be developed well enough to be a championship caliber team. The talent here had been so poorly developed, it would not be a quick two year fix for any coaching staff. Also, not so sure Georgia is not taking a step back in year five and six with Smart and his staff. The D minus CMR's guys fell off stat wise last year from the previous year. Do I know this is a great staff that is going to get it done? I do not but to get the class they have if they secure Wright with where this program is right now is progress. If they win 7 plus this year then we do have the right guys. TIFWIW

So is it time to start the ignore for NSD? ... What a ridiculous waste of time to sit around worrying about if CJP is going to fail as Tennessee's coach because of a few measly points in recruiting rankings by evaluators that are reputed to be less capable than our coaches.

You guys that are so delusional about Florida.....we’re “in same boat”?

Allow me to refresh your memory about Tennessee and Florida football.

Florida has won 13 of the last 14 games we’ve played....Florida physically dominated and beat the dog crap out of Tennessee last year 47-21, and it wasn’t that close.....Florida won twice as many games last year as Tennessee, went 10-3.....and Florida, despite EVERYBODY proclaiming that Dan Mullen can’t recruit for ish, has the 11th ranked recruiting class in the country right now, which is 4 spots higher than Tennessee currently sits.

How you or anybody else can look at those facts, those of circumstances, and declare that “we’re in the same boat” is beyond me and defies even a modicum of common sense.

Perhaps we’re both chasing Georgia and Alabama, but Florida is within shouting distance, if not nipping at least on Georgia’s heels, while Tennessee hasn’t even gotten in the race.

How the eff is Florida in nipping distance of uga at 2 if they are 11, if we arent close to Florida at 15?

With better, more accomplished, more highly regarded players? Yep. Except for Crouch and Keyton, you betcha.

If Crouch plays LB, that’s great, but we need more than one LB stud. I like Keyton, but he’s more like the WRs we already have, doesn’t solve our lack of speed at the position problem.

We badly need at least 1, probably 2 stud edge rushers, and we’re not bringing even one in. Harrison might prove to be a decent stop gap until we can (hopefully) go get a couple of studs in 2020, but he ain’t the player we need rushing the QB come August 31st.

Lol at you bringing up Means. You definitely lost the argument when you went down that road.

Bottom line, if you think bringing in the 15th rated class is gonna draw us any closer to Georgia, which already has light years more talent, and is about to bring in the 2nd rated class in the country, then I wouldn’t even suggest you try to take those orange-colored glasses, cause they’re welded to your head.

You clearly didn’t read my post. Talking about their 10-win season last year while we won 5 (recall that they blew us the hell out) and their being odds on favorite to challenge UGA in the East this year. It sure as hell ain’t gonna be Tennessee, who will very likely be picked to finish no better than 4th in the East. Wasn’t talking about recruiting classes, although they’re gonna beat us in that aspect too.

That is what everyone needs to realize. Getting the talent is one thing. Getting them in shape, teaching them fundamentals, getting their mindset right, putting them in a position to excel, etc. is what will hopefully set this staff apart from the last one.

You clearly have identified a problem. So what is your solution? 2 choices. 1. Restate the problem ad nauseam. 2. Enjoy the ride as we rebuild.

Aubrey Solomon is 5* DT, and was #1 DT couple years ago. Also got #1 DT from JUCO. Falling short or wish we had a couple more studs of this caliber? If we had 2 Savions and 2 Solomons, it'd be the best DL class in the nation. Crouch and Harrison will be playing LB this year. Bagman stole Pappoe and who knows about Tootoo. Land those two and we have the best LB recruiting class.
No one is catching up to UGA or Bama the past two years. We are 1 stud recruit away from beating UF.

This is the only thing I like about Saban and Belichick.....They get everyone to put team and winning first. No matter what. Individual accomplishments mean nada!

Have you ever noticed the way bammer's WRs and TEs consistently block for RBs and other WRs? I've read countless posts ridiculing our former coach for requiring WRs and TEs to block.
