I wish I knew what the staff really thinks about this past year at IMG and what HIS ceiling might be. Let me post a reminder about Jalin from early last year that fits in the never say never category. Does the gene pool give the staff pause at all?
Jalin Hyatt stats four games:
Bowling Green 4 receptions 62 yards 0 tds
Pitt 0
Tenn. Tech 0
Florida 0
_________
Season totals 4 receptions 62 yards 0 tds. No catches last three games!!!
The difference is Jaylin was already on this team, not a recruit. We’re now becoming one of the prime destinations for WR talent in the entire country. There is really no reason to waste a scholarship on someone we aren’t sure would be a contributor when there are portal guys and top-end HS talent willing to come here.
If his last name wasn’t Hyatt, no one would care about how this recruitment is going.
He had no catches after Pitt because he got a concussion against PItt hoing up for a piss missile from Milton near the back of the end zone early in the First. Not sure he was the same after that until towards the end of the year. He made some big plays last year also, the potential was always thereI wish I knew what the staff really thinks about this past year at IMG and what HIS ceiling might be. Did not say we should sign him, but wonder if the staff thinks he has high probability of late development like his gene sharing brother to the point he projects as a difference maker like his brother. It is all about where their evaluations place him in ANY pecking order. And I still think they should pursue him as a PWO with some NIL money for him or his brother if Jalin would return to improve his draft stock and play with his brother. Never know.
Hyatt isn’t going to come here as a PWO with a little bit of NIL money. He’ll still go somewhere on a full ride. It just won’t be a major program. I keep seeing the narrative on the internet that NIL is going to make it so scholarship caps won’t matter, but I don’t think many, if any, collectives are at the point where we can just pay someone to come play here as a PWO.
