this is crazy, but also you gotta love that the numbers clearly aren't scary enough. The author had to go off the rails with it:

If they polled CNN journalists, or just journalists in general, this number would be even higher. If they polled Google employees or Twitter executives, likewise. Closer to 100%.

To be clear, it's "fine or imprisonment", so for all we know, only 10% are OK with imprisonment and the other 38% were only OK with a fine.

It's still wrong, but it's not the same thing as saying 48% want you in a camp. They really ****ed up by combining the 2 punishments.

It's horrible because it's clearly a heavily biased source. I know you're pretty much keistering the red kool aid so, to your eyes, it looks like a perfectly normal news source. To the rest of the sane world, it's a jumbled mess with bad photoshops and corny ass headlines borne of a fracture mind.

So how the hell did the author get 48% out of 13% + 14%?

I found 48% of Democrats willing to deny freedom in an egregious manner stunning. 27% sounds more like it.

Not doubting the study's numbers... just how your source interprets them. It's bad journalism.

Why can't you just post the numbers, and let the discussion form the narrative? Why do you guys always post content from the toilet scrubbing brush of media sources?

I dunno, for the group who constantly moans about CNN, you sure love to post the most absurd news sites.

Stick to sources like these... not one's in your OP. You lose all credibility when you source dog sh*t like therightscoop.

You've got to go deep into the crosstabs to get to the really rich data as divided by sub demographic. There are some far more interesting narratives deep in the data than was teased out by the think tank that commissioned the study.

And saying that a solid majority of Democrat respondents oppose restrictive measures - a completely valid understanding of the data as presented - wouldn't help the desire of the commissioning body to paint all Democrats as a cohesive restrictive lot.

He listed the total respondents without the party breakdown. He’s using the same loaded phraseology he’s complaining about.

That's in the crosstabs. Also includes response breakdown by age, education level, income, parenting status, and race. Much harder to pull that data out

I copied and pasted straight from the Rasmussen site. No nefarious or ill intent. I also included the crosstabs table links. Are you really going to blame me for providing all the information as aggregated by the polling company?
