Seriously don’t believe it was money. Doubt Alberts got an opportunity to match or exceed the numbers.

I was there also. Second best visitor experience to Oklahoma. Too many different traditions tho. 🥵

That’s likely. It happened very suddenly from an outsider’s perspective.

One can only wonder what contract conversations were like leading up to the finals, since A&M was highly ranked and unbeaten through the NCAA tournament, until game 2 of the finals.

Do you really think the rest of the SEC programs, including us, are any different?

If we coulda hired Saban away from Alabama instead of Dooley, would you have done it?

The SEC is a pool of sharks!

I am so glad I never had to make that decision and can just stand firm in my Sabanhate.

The issue is not that they hired him, it is how, when and other things. They had the deal done before firing their current coach. They announced right after the CWS. They basically leaked it/telegraphed it before game 3 just to screw with A&M. It is all slimy.

One of the funniest things I heard during the series was an Aggie fan questioning what’s a Vol and why are we called that. A UT fan responded that if we weren’t his school would be called Mexico A&M.
