My daughter-in -law is about to begin her third year teaching first grade in Rutherford County Tennessee.She anticipates half of her class to be hspanic.Are you experiencing similarities in your school district?

I have 11 students, one of which is Hispanic. Our district IS experiencing more, but just in "inner-city" ( lol) schools, not the county schools.

Do you honestly eat all the candy, cookies, brownies, etc you get for Christmas? :)

Before. First day is this Friday.
I meant do you think it's better before or after, seems like they start earlier every year and get out at the same time.(It's just not natural to start school before labor day IMO)

We get out around the 3rd week of May, plus we get a lot of what I call "fluff" days during the year - MLK Day, President's Day, Spring Break, Fall Break, two week winter break, Labor Day, etc. If it were up to ME, school would begin the first week day of September and go STRAIGHT through 180 days and close for the summer.
