Honestly, "hobby" is not relevant to 2a purposes, but there are very few people i know that are anything other than hobbyists. Going to the range and shooting or whatever may make you more proficient, but is doesn't mean somebody will respond to a real situation like they do on the range (or like they've imagined it). That's why I pushed the point. Heck we just saw a real cop accidentally pull a gun instead of a taser.

I assume most of our self-defense gurus think they'll most likely defend themselves in their home or retreat if possible in the event of a public threat... but if I'm around I don't trust anybody with a gun.

If anything, it points out the lunacy of the gun grabber argument. If no one has water coming to their house then we don't have to worry about burst (bursted or bursteded) pipes. Amirite?

Seems the amount of defense is proportionate to the amount each is under attack. The Second is under constant pressure.

The First gets a good amount of defense here.
The Tenth gets a good amount of defense here.
Both the Fourth and Fifth also get their share.

the other 5 don't seem to be in the news much but I'm betting you'd see a similar response.

Even better analogy is that you have three particular groups of people who constantly break the pipes and cause all the damage. But we continue to whine about the leak itself instead of fixing the problem by removing the people

Hell yes. I propose getting rid of every tax credit, deduction, filing status, etc. Everyone should write a check at the end of the year.

Well never thought I'd be in agreement and partial agreement with Hog and C on the same issue. Anyways, lets not derail the thread.
