Season isn’t over yet.

I’m looking into the future. If you take away TOs that shouldn’t happen, have a well refereed game, etc. our team could be a bit above mediocre. LSU and Wisconsin aren’t great, but they aren’t bad teams either.

Not like LSU shot 20% from 3 either. They shot 47.6% from 3. A 2.4% difference isn’t very much, and they made several covered 3s

Yep Wisconsin beat Ohio State at OSU this week.
I watched LSU at home vs ETSU and they looked like a different team then, they hit more 3's vs us
LSU got their confidence up vs us, were averaging 4 three's a game
Refs letting people play helped us last year, hurts us this year. Different team.
The game vs UT was also called a lot different than LSU v ETSU.
Points off TO's hurt us but refs letting play aggressive leads to TO's especially when breaking in new PG at mid season.
5 games later I predict we get better and if we can make the tournament the games are called tighter.
Which helps us but need to knock down FT's.

Cost himself a lot of money? Surely you didn't think he was an NBA prospect. He was the 4th or 5th option last season. Anybody expecting him to be able to carry the load was fooling themselves. Great kid, great high level role player, but that's about it. He can probably catch on overseas somewhere a make a decent living if he chooses.

I think he must be referring to Bowden playing overseas. That's not bad money. If Bowden doesn't get back on track, he may not play overseas.

I would say this season is a lost cause, which is fine. It's disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. I thought this team was talented enough to win 21-22 games before the year started, but that was predicated on the idea that Plavsic would be eligible and Turner and Bowden would improve. I don't think anyone anticipated Turner having another surgery and leaving the team before January, or for Bowden to become completely non-existent on the court. This team just isn't talented enough to essentially lose both of your Senior guards and still win games.

I think the minutes James and Vescovi are getting this season will be incredibly valuable for next year. Expectations will be high, as they should be. I would say my only concern for this season is if we don't get to 0.500. I think optics-wise it would be really bad for our 2021 recruiting if we took this big of a leap back from where we were the past two seasons. Hopefully Barnes can find a way to at least salvage this season by winning some games down the stretch and get us to 16-17 wins.
