SEC Championship Game thread

I thought it was supposed to be the lowest two seed that gets put in the number one overall seed's bracket, Tennessee is not the lowest two seed.

Please 'splain, all of you highly-paid college basketball coaches, how Holly was out coached today.
I would like to hear the answer to this also. The three seniors had 13 points total. We were in position to score and just couldn't make a bucket. How is that coaching? The players just didn't compete in the second half. She kept putting AMASS in hoping she would wake up and never did. This loss falls strictly on the shoulders of the players.

You can't be serious. Anyone who can see clearly knows that Holly was out-coached today. If you really need that explained to you then you know very little about basketball.

I've already said that the loss is not on Holly's shoulder's alone. The players shoulder the majority of the responsibility but yes, Holly bears some of it. Talent will only get you so far. Coaching separates the good teams from the great teams though.

If you know this, then please tell the rest of us HOW we were out coached today. Please be specific.

We are waiting.

Please enlighten us stupid ones what she should have done. If you can't tell us specifically what she should have done, then you are just talking without having an idea.

At least for me if the games is on the line I would just give the ball to Jordan and let her go to work. She seems to be that type of player. She is definitely someone who steps up in big games and doesn't disappear. Which is something our 5 star rated players have been lacking. Next year the PG spot is Jordan's to lose and I don't see her giving it up. By her senior season she is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Jordan and CB made the all tourney team. Welch was the MVP. Jordan had a couple of early turnovers, but settled down and played a good game.

I think this series in the next couple of years could be really fun. Both teams are loaded with talent going forward.

Not to mention I think competition for the Lady Vols is good and should compel them to up the game.

Cierra was providing great leadership and playing well, but South Carolina focused on her and really limited her in the 2d half. The problem in the paint wasn't just that we couldn't hit and couldn't rebound, but were also unable to kick the ball out to the shooters. So hate to see Cierra leave empty-handed, she is a total player!

How about noticing when something clearly is not working and drawing up some other plays that hopefully will? South Carolina packed the paint yet that appeared to be the only place our players wanted to go with the ball. Even though it wasn't working, we kept doing it over and over again, only to have it fail over and over again. If something isn't working, at some point you've got to see that and change it. Lack of offensive sets is also obvious. Little to no movement from our players on offense. They often looked clueless out there today. This is a coaching problem.

I think having Izzy would have helped. Another big in the paint. But an elite player she is not. She didn't play well in some of our tougher games either. We don't have a good 5 player and teams that have them will eat us alive. Got to make some shots as well. Let's represent and root for the big orange in the ncaa.

Going by what you just said, I do not believe you are even close to being a basketball coach.

Note to HW: Massengale didn't produce in the postseason her FR, SOPH, or JR years and she s 5 for 21 so far this year. There's an excellent chance the light won't come on in the NCAAT either.

Reynolds and Carter are solid for sure, but I'd give Middleton the bulk of Ariel's minutes going forward. At least there is potential that Middleton will produce on the big stage. And maybe give Dunbar and that stroke of hers a sniff too..

Really love the specificity that Holly should draw up some new plays. That's really nailing it. She tried several different things and things we hadn't done before. Too bad you didn't even recognize it when we tried something different. SMDH....

I usually cringe when Middleton goes in, because she tends to throw bricks, but today she was solid on Defense and made good shots. They definitely should have kept her in, because I notice when Nia and her went out, the game went south.

Ariel had a terrible game but she has been big since Izzy's injury. She needs to get her mind right though for the NCAAs. We need her to win the games.

I heard we were going to Maryland's bracket. Hopefully ESPN is on crack.

The problem is that she can not create her own shot. A the top teams know that so the game plan is to take her away. That`s why i said the move Jordan to the SG spot she can create her own shot and shoot the 3. Start Nared at the wing 3.
