1. Venables Buyout $44.8 million
2. Napier Buyout $27 million
3. Stoops Buyout $44.4 million
4. DeBoer Buyout $70 million
5. Pitman $12.1 million if he has a 500 record or better
6. Freeze $20.3 million
How great is America? We are talking about six men in possible danger of being let go from their respective jobs and their collective buyout exceeds $218MM!

Our fan base has a weird obsession with hating Texas simply because they’re UT.
If you had grown up rooting for any other Southwest Conference school during that day and time, you would harbor similar feelings about Texas. They carried a “smug and arrogant” gene then and, apparently, have passed it down!

I think he’s back next year. Decent chance Arkansas could win 8 games after a bowl looking at the schedule, Louisiana Tech and Missouri should be wins. But Arkansas never seems to beat Missouri so who knows.

I could also see him just hanging it up and going out on a high note.
Drinkwitz said today they expect Brady Cook "to be back this season" which doesn't sound promising to me.

Missouri could conceivably lose 3 out of their 4 remaining games including Arkansas. And the Miss State game could be agonizingly competitive.

Hate to see it for Brady Cook but don't hate to see it for Dork.

Venables just got the dreaded vote of confidence from his bosses. If he doesn't have a big turnaround next year he'll almost surely be canned. If he didn't have the history with OU that he does, and wasn't as well-liked, he might have already been fired. Assuming they drop the last 2 games of the season, he is going to be 11-15 in conference play at OU, and 2 of his 3 seasons were in the Big 12.
