SEC Network- How Long You Gonna Wait?

Long time Comcast user. I went ahead and switched to ATT uverse last month. 1. Because I got sick of their continued rates rising, customer service, etc. 2. SEC network just made me go ahead and pull the plug on Comcast. So far I really like ATT. GBO!

I have direct TV and have had it for the last two years. I switched from charter because their rates went up and service went down. I hope AT&T waits a long time before buying DIRECTV because AT&T blows chunks when it comes to customer service. So far DIRECTV has been okay but they better get the SEC network or I'm going to dish

Direct TV lady at Sams Club said they would be announcing it this summer.

Think about it, Direct TV would lose $ on that deal before losing subscribers. I'm holding out a little longer.

I have Direct to think they will announce before August.

I see that our first 2 games are going to be on the SEC network. I have Charter and I've called them to ask about the SEC network only to be told "what's that".

I realize that most of the providers are going to wait until the last minute to announce they are going to carry the station, so my question is how long do you give these azzholes before you pull the plug and switch?

I can get U-Verse and Dish where I live so I have options.

I think I'll give Charter until the last day of July before I make a decision to switch.

Exact same thing they told me.. They said to watch Big Ten network. They have no clue if they are adding it. I'm calling again this weekend.

Directv likes to haggle but they will get it done.

If not... my laptop still works.

Well don't worry about switching because Charter will no longer be providing cable in the state of Tennessee real soon. All cable in the state will be Comcast. Charter was bought out in the state of Tennessee so everybody will be Comcast.

I have WOW (formerly Knology) here in Knoxville. I tweeted WOW about the SEC Network & they tweeted back "they anticipate carrying the SEC Network". All the cable companies stand to lose a lot of customers to DISH & ATT U-Verse if they don't carry it, including me. Got to have it.

Not entirely true. As part of the Comcast-Time Warner merger, Comcast is trading/selling some TWC markets to Charter in exchange for some current Charter markets so each company can consolidate some area operations. However, Charter will still have some markets in Tennessee.

Markets Charter is tranferring to Comcast: Alcoa, Blount Co (currently overlap with Comcast in some areas), Farragut, Gatlinburg, Knox Co (currently overlap with Comcast in some areas), Lenoir, Loudon, Loudon Co, Louisville, Madisonville, Maryville, Monroe Co, Pigeon Forge, Sevier Co (currently overlap with Comcast in some areas), Sevierville (currently overlap with Comcast in some areas), Seymour, Sweetwater, Tellico and Tellico Village, TN

Markets Comcast is transferring to Charter: Tri-Cities (Bristol, Johnson City, Kingsport), Chattanooga.

So two of the five biggest markets in Tennessee will still be primarily Charter.

Additionally, these transfers will not take place until 2015, so they have no real bearing on whether current customers will see the SEC Network this fall.

Same deal for the ATT/Direct TV merger. That won't go through for at least a year and won't make any difference on whether DTV gets the network.

AT&T is buying DIRECTV for about $50 Billion. I believe DIRECTV will carry the SEC Network but I made the change to ATT U-verse anyway. Love it more than DIRECTV.

Man, I hear ya. UVerse stops at the neighborhood right next to mine. There's a freaking ATT substation right beside me. Might dig my own lines.

I've had Comcast for only two months and I'm already regretting it.

Is in the last few days or happening soon? Could have sworn CSS is still showing up on my BTES in the tricities. Think some of the SEC baseball tourney and skimmed through and saw "Talkin Football" listed just a few days ago. Maybe a week at most, haven't watched TV much last several days
BTES is in active negotiations with ESPN/Disney/ABC Family to continue carriage of a host of networks. Our current agreement expires July 31, 2014. Our negotiation includes carriage of ESPN's new service the SEC Network and we fully anticipate making this service available to you, our valued customers, when it launches on August 14, 2014. If you have any further questions please contact us at 423-968-1526.

AT&T has already reached a deal to carry the sec network so if they go through with buying directv then subscribers will get the sec network for a price of course but it'll be worth it. GBO!!!!

That has nothing to do with the other...it will be 12-18 months for FCC approval and full takeover...DTV is negotiating on their own,AT&T has no influence whatsoever... but DTV will have it in time...

I have Verizon Fios here in Richmond, VA. I called them a week ago and they said "yes, we will have it in August." She probably meant Aug. 33rd after the opener!

It's going to be a year to 18 months before the actual operations of the two companies are joined together.

I have direct TV and they do not have it. Im told they are negotiating. I told them if its not a done deal by 30 June, I'm heading over to DISH. I know I'm not the only one in my area telling them that, so hoping for the best.
