agreed - I wish Nike would do the world a favor and stay out of corrupting college football uniforms.

In the words of Judge Smalls --- some people just dont belong !

That's the Nike pro alternate isn't it?

I thought this was their new regulars:

I hope you mean in college football and not the actual world. Kauffman Stadium' s (Kansas City Royals) is the second biggest in professional sports and is 84 feet wide by 105 feet tall. MSU's is listed at 48 x 84.

It was a reference to a post by Billy C.

1. Tennessee- I like the classic look of our helmets.
2. Florida- Not a fan of theirs, but their white ones are sick.
3. Georgia- Kinda like ours- simple and traditional.
4. Kentucky- Not a fan of theirs. Blue and white combo just screams high school to me.
5. Vanderbilt- Would be cool... if they were competitive.
6. South Carolina- Old ones were much cooler.
7. Missouri- Stupid helmets, and stupid addition to our conference IMO. These jokers are close enough to be in the Big 10. Even my Michigan friends don't consider them Southern.

1. Alabama- Flame away, but they're classic.
2. LSU- Pretty cool, but the whites are even cooler.
3. Arkansas- No opinion on theirs. A pig is a dumb mascot.
4. Auburn- I like theirs.
5. Texas A&M- I like theirs. They can pull of the maroon and white.
6. MSU- Can't pull off the maroon and white.
7. Ole Miss- Their fans ruin it for me. Just as cocky as Alabama fans, but they have no history whatsoever to back it up. Their women are beautiful, though. I could fake being a fan of theirs if it meant getting closer to their girls.

white helmets = boring

I hated our all-white "snowman" look against Bama in the '09 SECCG. That said, AU and UT's lids are traditional and time-tested, in spite of what the latest generation thinks. Don't change them.

LSU's gold and UF's orange helmets are unique, and there's contrast with whoever their opponent is.

South Carolina used to wear black helmets, and they looked sharp with their garnet tops. UK switched from blue back to white helmets...bad decision.

I'm cool with TAMU, Arkansas and MSU having white helmets as an option, seeing as 4 out of the 7 schools in the West have either dark red or maroon as their primary school color.

Yeah, good thing those younger audiences are making those killer donations....

If new uniforms/the occasional "fun" uniform resulted in enough of a recruiting boost to garner just one additional win, wouldn't that be more important to those donating than time-tested uniforms?

UT should ditch Rocky Top and replace it with a song that appeals to the younger generation.

How about that "Call Me Maybe" track the kids are all raving about? It's gotta be worth at least another 4* LB commitment from South Florida.

they put some research into it and pretty much everyone confuses a gold/yellow Block M with Michigan

That's why the coach pushed for the change that made this the new main helmet:

??? Michigan has no letter on its helmet -- Pinkel is nuts anyway

No no, not the helmet, the block logo; the big yellow/blue M logo that Michigan's famous for

It was the school and nike that both researched it. They presented a fairly largr sample of casual fans and regular people with Missouri block M and the results showed a significant number more people associate the general block M logo with Michigan, even though it wasn't on their helmets

(whether or not it's on the actual helmet, the casual fans knew this to mean Michigan:

So much to the point that they almost regularly felt these logos were also just variations of Michigan's:

)

The same studies however also showed their tiger logo to be more unique and less confused/better identified by the non-hardcore sports fan...thus the push for the change

There also was a (somewhat lesser) issue with the other teams block M helmet teams (Minnesota, Marshall, Miami (OH), etc) and the identification.

All this combined, plus the feeling/need to move towards becoming more a national brand rather than a regional one following their SEC move, led to their decision to change and use the more recognizable Tiger logo

If you want to create a national brand, it's generally a good idea not to have the most boring and played out mascot in team sports.

See also the Kentucky/KState/Arizona/Bethune Cookman/Villanova/Northwestern Wildcats.
