Seed List

Agreed. I think 5 is likely our best shot, even if we win the SEC tourney. I can maybe see the 4 happening if we win the whole thing, but idk. Looking at Lunardi’s Top 16 seeds big board there was only 1 team to lose today (Purdue) that really matters for our seeding.
Lunardi sucks. If we win the SECT there’s no way we’re worse than a 4 seed

You’re probably right, but I don’t think there is any way we can get a 3 so winning the tourney probably means a ceiling of a 4 and we’d need a few teams ahead of us, like FSU, to drop a game.

It would be ridiculous for us to be a 5 seed were we to win the SEC tourney. That would mean we will have added wins against Alabama and likely Arkansas to wins against Florida (2), Kansas, Arkansas the first time, the possible Pac-12 tourney champ Colorado, and Missouri on the road. Our last two loses were bad but not catastrophic, and none of the rest are bad losses at all. I can't see us not getting a four seed with an SEC tourney championship

Valid.

Except that the SEC on the whole is as average as average gets.

Zero remarkabikity of any kind.

I really hope that doesn’t end up happening. I want nothing to do with Florida State in the 2nd round.

6:30pm- Georgetown vs. Creighton

Gtown and OSU would be bid thieves which if we’re going to be a 5 seed is a good thing to see as it generally weakens the 12 seeds. I think Cincinnati might be the only other bid thief out there. Utah St/Memphis are bubble teams but probably good if they win too.

BV update. Moved up to the #17 overall seed
Seed List

I’m curious if a loss by FSU is enough to drop them below us. Purdue lost to OSU and they’re basically unchanged. Can’t imagine a Bama loss hurts us. Is a win over GT enough to push Creighton over us?

Gonna be interesting to also monitor Kansas & Virginia situations...both are ahead of us on seed list, or assumed to be, and there’s a chance one or both could be out of the dance. If that happens obviously we would also move up the seed list.

I think Tennessee would be best served with a Georgia Tech win.

Of those 4’s and 5’s, eliminating Colorado, who would you want?
Nova, Creighton, or UVA. None would be easy, but I just don’t like the length and athleticism that FSU brings. I didn’t mention Purdue because I honestly haven’t watched 1 minute of their games this year.

Certainly. I’m just wondering if it’s possible to get a 4 seed even w a loss today. A loss to Bama probably won’t hurt us much. How much would a loss to GT hurt FSU? I definitely think it would drop them below UVA. So it could be close

If GT wins FSU might wind up a #6 Seed in my opinion.

I wouldn’t be against being a 6 seed. Would keep us from drawing Gonzaga, Michigan, or Baylor in the Sweet 16 if we make it that far.

A part of me thinks if Memphis sneaks their way into the tournament, the committee would love to match us up in a 6-11,5-12 first round matchup.
