Well... the scenario has unfolded... GT beats FSU and Creighton blown out. I don’t think it’s totally out of the realm of possibility that Tennessee could get a 4 seed

We seem like a solid 5 to me. With the bid stealers yesterday, the play in games are almost certainly going to be on the 11 line, and now those teams are going to be stronger. This year the 12 seeds are going to be significantly weaker than the 11s I think. I know what you mean about being the 6 and avoiding the 1, but just getting to the sweet 16 seems like a great accomplishment at this point.

Besides, if the “experts” are correct and Gonzaga, Baylor, Illinois are just that much better than everyone else, you’re going to have to face them eventually. Might as well take a swing at them in the Sweet 16 and then maybe we’ll get lucky and some craziness will happen in the bottom of the bracket making the E8 matchup easier.

Agree, especially with what the preseason expectations were. I believe we were the highest ranked preseason SEC team. Alabama being this good was surprising but finishing 4th in the SEC and not winning the SECT a S16 would be nice as a slightly underachieving. An E8 and I won’t bitch about this season at all.

You know me I don’t value the tourney as much as most but with the regular season being a C grade the tourney is a way to rewrite the narrative that this season will be remembered as

That’s fair. If we won something in the SEC I’d be more okay with a loss in the 2nd round or S16 but I think this was Barnes’ most disappointing regular season since he got here.

Agreed. I’m not sure if expectations were too high, or if COVID had an affect on our practices, but this definitely feels like Barnes’ worst coaching job since he got here.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and Springer will return next year, BHH will reclassify to 2021, Fulky stays, and we can get a stud grad transfer big man. That’s pretty much the “most realistic” perfect off-season. It’s a stretch for all that to happen, but if it did maybe next year is the truly special season we’ve been waiting for.

The Big East sucks. I’m not going to wet my pants over GU. Winthrop is a really good mid-major. I’m not sure facing them would be much easier.

I would 10000x rather play Winthrop than Loyola Chicago in the first round. No thank you!

Have there been any statements about Fulkerson availability for the NCAAT? The committee takes injuries into consideration. Could be beneficial to say that he’s expected to be available

Looks like it’s Fri/Sat and Sun/Mon. Didn’t realize they were playing consecutive days but it makes sense. Yeah getting a week off would be nice. Did they say that’s the earliest because he’s in concussion protocol? Or is that how long his eye would take to heal?

Yeah my fault, I just came back to fix it. I dont remember him coming out and saying but at the same time without saying he implied its concussion protocol.

I honestly think if he doesn’t get to play in the tournament much. This might have a bearing on whether or not he comes back next season. Didn’t get his chance in the SEC tourney last year or this year, and the NCAA tourney is a question mark as well. I’d love for us to play long enough in the tournament for Fulky to play I just don’t know. I would love to see him come back next year with a solid 1st round draft pick playing PG.
