Tradition wise - Yes Tennessee has a great tradition in football (not so much recently, but still). Basketball - Tenn has a tradition, but i'd shy away from stating its great. Our bball tradition consists of 4 sweet 16 appearances and little else. Yet some of you believe ADMH should fire Pearl even after he has added to the UT tradition.

Answer this question. Let's say Kiffin will have a 7-5 season this year. Let's say CBP makes it the the tourney and gets put out in the first round. Whose seat should be hotter?

They are very different situations. I think you could argue either way. Look how much Bruce has done for the basketball program. Lane has done some good things early, but hasn't coached a game yet. You have to give him time to prove himself. It's apples and oranges.

I'm normally pretty patient when it comes to moronic posters. I don't really agree with those on here who blast others for simply having a different opinion.

But you are a rare breed. I'm nearly to the point of casting out hatvol-esque comments.

But I'll answer your ridiculous question. If Kiffin has a winning record, it will be a success, given the team he inherited with the condition of the program. If Pearl gets bounced in the first round with a senior led team that made the tourney last year, then Pearl's seat will start feeling a little warm. Why would you think any different?

Who could they have hired who would have been "much better"? Bonus points if instead of looking up profiles based on what people have done since Pearl was hired, you can dig up a post from back then where you suggested a better person. Since you have 50k posts and since you were around back then still obsessed with basketball, I hope you can back it up. Otherwise you are just a negative person who takes out your anger at personal failures by belittling people like Bruce Pearl and Peyton Manning whose personal and professional successes make your own seem pathetic.

Selby put out a list of schools yesterday and Tennessee is nowhere to be found on it. The Harris visit for the UCLA game appears like it is going to happen.

Instead of feeling sorry for my family, you should feel sorry for you parents. As a parent myself, I would be ridculously ashamed and embarassed if my son was as dumb as you. I'd probably castrate myself to prevent pro-creating any further.

Instead of "hoping I don't have any kids", you should hope that I don't have any kids who are as dumb, moronic, immature, idiotic, etc as yourself and your posts.

Of course, once my son graduates Kindergarten, I will no longer have that fear.

It really says something when posters who I have openly quarreled with on this board actually state they agree with me on my opinion of you. I'm thankful school is starting back. You won't have time to post while riding the short bus back to the 6th grade.

John Brady , Tubby Smith (although he technically resigned), Nolan Richardson, Dennis Felton and Jerry Green all disagree with you. In your sorry argument, Jerry green added nearly as much to "Tennessee's Tradition" as has Bruce Pearl. Ask Dennis Felton how making the tourney worked out for him. How about Nolan Richardson?

John Brady was in the Final Four. Tubby won a NC. So did Nolan.

Felton took UGA to one NCAA basketball tourney in 5 years and got beat in the 1st round. He did lose his job until his team went 9-11 last year.

UK fans will tell you Tubby Smith hadn't done anything since '98.

John Brady did not get fired until he went 8-13 in 2008.

When Pearl has an SEC record of 8-13 or 9-11 we can fire him.

Give the kid a break. While I completely agree with you that making the NCAA tourney does not equal job security, comparing Pearl to Felton is laughable. Maybe Richardson or Tubby are better comparisons, but the fans at Arkansas and Kentucky have enjoyed greater levels of success and tire with coaches quickly. Regardless, let's see how the team does this year and the year after (after we lose Smith, Price, Chism, etc.) before we write Pearl off as an underachiever.

Which leads us back to the recruits. The 2010 class isn't in the books yet. Let's see who this staff is able to bring in.

This is the first correct statement you have made. Everyone here DOES know who is correct. We have all made it VERY clear who is WRONG, which is you. A jury of your peers (not literally, these are actually smart people) have deemed you guilty of being unfit to participate in any form of intelligent conversation. You have been weighed and measured, and you are found wanting.

Insulting someone's family, flip-flopping like John Kerry, and resorting to a "I know you are but what am I mentality" is not helping you any on this board, in terms of being an intelligent poster OR gaining any sort of respect whatsoever. Its ok to be a passionate fan and have different opinions, but for goodness sake don't act like an irrational 4th grader who's mentality is "mine, mine, mine". What are you looking for by acting this way on a message board? Are you sitting by the computer with your friends giggling while you post?

Speaking to you like an adult for a moment....has it ever occured to you that when you are the ONLY one sharing your opinion in a thread consisting of multiple posters in which some are older and smarter, that you should perhaps take a step back and look at what your saying? Perhaps realize that you might be wrong? Instead you just push on forward making more ridiculous statements and childish insults.

I took you off of the ignore list because I could see that you were still irritating others, resulting to talking about their families, which is out of line. All I'm trying to do is help you with this post, but it is a waste of time writing it. After you read it, (if you even read it all) you will proceed in telling me that your sorry for my parents and good luck against Georgia in lacrosse, or perhaps even something more ridiculous than that. Then you can continue on with your game, whatever it is.

Don't quote him. It defeats the purpose of using the ignore function. He knows all because he knows a couple of former UT players. The fact I talk to D-I coaches on pretty much a daily basis is no match for that.
