Selby and Harris News.

Don't quote him. It defeats the purpose of using the ignore function. He knows all because he knows a couple of former UT players. The fact I talk to D-I coaches on pretty much a daily basis is no match for that.

This really burns me up. You pretend that you know more about UT basketball then CBP. What a joke.

Felton took UGA to one NCAA basketball tourney in 5 years and got beat in the 1st round. He did lose his job until his team went 9-11 last year.

UK fans will tell you Tubby Smith hadn't done anything since '98.

John Brady did not get fired until he went 8-13 in 2008.

When Pearl has an SEC record of 8-13 or 9-11 we can fire him.

That will probably be a while since we only play 16 SEC games and not 21 or 20. Your points are ridiculous. Tubby made a couple of Elite 8's after '98 and still got fired. John Brady made multiple NCAA tournaments.

As for some actual news on Selby instead of arguing with Corky, it appears Selby might be headed toward UConn.

Assuming Kentucky is able to land Knight, its No. 1 point guard target, it's unlikely that Josh Selby would play in the same backcourt, especially with Eric Bledsoe on the roster as a sophomore. Bledsoe is a guy who has impressed the Kentucky coaching staff as much as any of the freshmen. Sure, the expectations for Bledsoe weren't as high as they were for John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins, but Bledsoe is a player many expect to excel not only in college but also in the NBA.

Selby just visited UConn, and the Huskies appear to be positioning themselves as the team to beat.

I'm still pissed over the Selby-gate! With Selby gone, along with the under-rated Craft's departure to Ohio State... I'm honestly worried about our program. T. Smith, Prince, and Chism will soon be history... imo we may never recover from a disappointing season!!! Pearl's appeal to recruits was always his success of making a no-body into a some-body... but with that out the window... what do we honestly have?!

Thanks to you and your staff, CBP, you have transformed our program from perennial SEC cellar dwellars to SEC championship contenders. We the true fans appreciate the hard work, keep it up.

It was my hope that you would get the point and you didn't. What a d*** joke.

Thanks for the news hwf. What a surprise to everyone here that we couldn't compete with Uconn for a prized recruit.

That 24 game win steak keeps getting more important.

Don't write CBP off. All he needs is a Chris Lofton type of player who can take control of a game. There are plenty out there and CBP will find one.

Good quote. There are at least 24,534 other fans who show this kind of support.

Selby's mother is now saying that he won't sign until the spring. Looks more and more like it's going to be UCONN.

does anyone think we still have a chance, hes been BLOWIN IT UP at all these tournaments lately. I mean he obviously loved it here, and i think we can still get him. wat do others think?

Good. See-ya Josh. :wavey:

Next..

How do you consider this good?

This would have been one of, if not the, most important recruits BP ever reeled in to UT.

5* PG's don't grow on trees.

When Melvin Goins is bringing it up the floor against UK's plethora of 5*'s in 2010-11, you will wish we had retained Selby.

why does reality have to be negative? I simply pointed out that the KY teams that drilled is in 3 of 4 over the past two seasons were absolutely awful. On the other hand, Pearl hands Billy Donovan his head on a regular basis and that makes no sense to me.

Following this logic, Florida football has been mediocre at best since the Vols have been a terrible football team and fired it's coach. I get it now.

Ummm no...not even close. Florida has won 2 of the last 3 National Championships. I must have missed when UT did that in basketball.

Good grief. Rivals now has Tobias as the #5 overall player. Selby is #4. Joe Jackson is #12. Vander Blue is #22. Vol commit McRae is #42. Tarik Black is #47. Trae Golden is #55. Prather is #64. Pinkston is #67. Releford is #98. Craft is #104. Former Gillispie commit K.C. Ross-Miller is #148.

It seems like a lot of the guys Bruce has recruited have been going up. It would be nice to get some of them though, and I am aware that Bruce didn't get involved with Prather - I just find his stock newsworthy, since he's instate.

Does anyone on here know which of these recruits CBP has a decent shot at getting? Should fans feel confident that we get one or two of these fellas?

Given what the mood in this Forum has been like this summer, I'm nervous about whether we'll get any of them. Bruce really needs to land somebody to inject some hope/life back into the program. It's been a very long time since the basketball team has taken a commitment and an even longer time since a commitment has come from someone still committed.

We lose 6 seniors after this season and should have 5 or so scholarships to give. Take away McRae and that leaves 4. I have listed a preliminary roster for 2010-2011season that appears to provide incoming freshman plenty of room for some competition at playing time based on today's talent grades. However, if the players listed below become valuable components to this years success, the 2010 draft class may be competing for points off the bench.

No. Name Pos. Ht. Wt. Cl.-Exp.
24 Josh Bone G 6-3 195 Jr.-Tr.
21 Melvin Goins G 5-11 195 Jr.-Tr.
20 Kenny Hall F 6-8 220 Fr.-HS
32 Scotty Hopson G 6-7 200 So.-1L
10 Michael Hubert G 6-2 203 Jr.-Sq.
13 Skylar McBee G 6-3 190 Fr.-HS
5 Emmanuel Negedu F 6-7 218 So.-1L
22 Steven Pearl F 6-5 232 Jr.-1L
23 Cameron Tatum G 6-6 197 So.-1L
33 Brian Williams C 6-10 278 Jr.-2L
0 Renaldo Woolridge G/F 6-8 208 So.-1L

Smells like an SECC and tournament title to me.

Calipari is shaking in his boots.

Selby's a great player, but he obviously changed his mind so i'm tired of hearing about him. The whole situation pisses me off.
