A fable comes to mind...

Boy. Wolf. Yup.

By the way, I really dislike Edwards. Don't trust him and I think he's superficially rooting for the lower classes, from whom he has certainly distanced himself in his non-political life. In the early days of the primaries, I was really going nuts that he might win the nomination.

Interesting thing was that the local plaintiffs' lawyers were all sending him gobs of money and one or two of the big wigs around here hosted parties for him for $-purposes. Pretty apparent what their agenda is/was.

How many true hardcore give away the farm to the poor style democrats does this description not apply to. Ted Kennedy has been the champion free money guy forever and he wouldn't remotely consider spending his time with the lower class (without cameras).

I'm not going to disagree with you on this one, BPV, at least as regards the politicians. Edwards, though, his hipocrisy was just so pointed. He's publicly bemoaning society's disregard of the poor while he privately gets $400 haircuts. That killed his candidacy, IMO.

About 1000 more egregious hypocritical incidents and he can begin even being mentioned with Kennedy.

The irony is that the National Enquirer, which has made a gazillion dollars printing stories that are so outrageous that their fakeness is what sells them, is now standing around stomping its feet that nobody believes them this one time, when they have a real honest-to-goodness news scoop.

I thought I read the NE broke the Jesse Jackson love-child story too. Seems this is their bread and butter

So, they catch John Edwards and they don't provide one picture or video of the ordeal? I'm not saying he didn't do anything but that seems a little odd. Then again, it is the National Enquire.

They are hyping it up, building anticipation and then getting everything they can out of it (if they do indeed have photos).

mania I'm afraid LG's head might explode when the only 2 sources are the National Enquirer and FoxNews. :)

What a bum, how can you do this to your wife dying of cancer? I didn't believe the NE but I doubt Fox would run this if it weren't credible.

I feel bad for Edwards' wife. Edwards is done politically. Thank God he isn't the nominee. I'd have voted against him for sure, anyway.

how is he finished politically? It didn't stop Clinton. Is it because his wife is sick? It's wrong regardless, but the dems have historically been far more forgiving of things like this. In fact, they'll usually trot out the tired "well everyone does it" excuse.
