Any recommendations on an emergency alert app? I'd like something that was very specific for my location, in case a midnight run to the basement is in order.
I'll be honest, a weather radio is your best bet for information. But in times like these, it's sometimes best to just wait up until the all clear happens. I know most folks have jobs, but better for one or more people to stay awake and monitor the situation rather than hope you get an alert on time. Best to ask the boss the next day for a little latitude.
Also, the problem with text alerts and the likes is if/when power and cell towers go down. And cell carriers will get logjammed with calls and texts. I'm in tornado central, ask me how I know...
Must be insane there. We just had a mini lightning show here with torrential rain/flash flooding and only small amounts of hail, but it came and went quickly.
