was wondering when someone was going to report something like this. Horrible. Unforunately, there will be a lot more.
Luckily, East Tennessee's terrain isn't conducive to forming tornadoes.

Neither is East Alabama. They specifically said tonight on the weather that these were not typical given the jet stream and that mountains would not break them up. They would just move right along with the terrain.
Apparently the conditions were perfect for tornadoes with long durations and paths. Typically the terrain east of here breaks them up.
Makes me more thankful.
How are you and your family doing?
good thanks - really was spared twice today.
Some up to 100 mph straight line winds came through about 5 am. Lots of trees down but none for me. As stated earlier, that beast of a tornado that went through Bham passed just north of me and all I got was some rain and thunder/lightning. I almost feel guilty given the damage others received.
It hit Rosedale Courts in Tuscaloosa. There is a facebook page if you google it that has pictures of the damage
I know what you mean. It's almost humorous to hear the eyewitness accounts of people saying "it sounded like a train" . . . then it's not quite as funny when it gets dark and you hear the train.I have always been fascinated by tornadoes and wondered what it wld b Like to be on one. after being hit by one today I hope to Nvr xperience that again
